Some friends recommended NY NY as being a good hotel on the Strip, and this certainly rang true for us. On researching for a hotel to stay at in Vegas we wanted something comfortable in a good location so we could see as much of Vegas as possible in the short 2 night stopover we had.
We booked on their own website and discovered that their "Couples Package" was the same price as their cheapest room (Skyline I think), but included a free upgrade to a Strip View room, 2 free drinks, 2 for 1 breakfasts at one of the cafes, 2 for 1 rollercoaster voucher (which is a pretty good rollercoaster that goes around the hotel and costs $14 per person normally), $25 retail credit to use and a 2 for 1 Spa voucher (that we didn't get time to use). It also promoted a cheap price on a tour of Vegas sights but we didn't really see the need and it is definitely not essential to use to get this deal.
Looking at the map the hotel may appear to be at one end and thus away from the most concentrated spots on the Strip, but we found it was definitely close enough to be in walking distance of most attractions.
On check-in the guy was great - he was very polite and professional, went through each of the vouchers we had included and how we were to use them, and gave us detailed directions on how to get to our hotel room which was essential with 4 towers and slot machines everywhere blocking any signs they may have. A great first impression.
Whilst it may not be the flashiest of hotels in Vegas the rooms are fine as are the casino, bars and dining. When you consider it was half the price of most other hotels around NY NY is definitely worth considering next time you go to Vegas.
