“Great location, great value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2014

We chose New York New York as it was in the section of the strip we wanted to be in, but at a much cheaper price than a few of the surrounding hotel/casinos. Being in the US the service in all the bars/restaurants inside and behind the desk was of course excellent and the room was nice too, spacious and I seem to recall maybe even free Wifi (not 100% sure on that, I can't remember)!!!

We went in December and the casino floor seemed to have less tables somehow, I suspect they remove some after the peak summer season, so there seemed a lot of empty space around, but that's not a bad thing!

The only thing missing in the casino however was a poker room, whilst probably not a big deal for most people, it was annoying enough that I would stay in one of the other hotels next time that actually had one, as its annoying having to walk through to another hotel when you have a huge casino floor downstairs!

Was my first trip to Vegas, was not impressed by the NY NY at all. It was pretty basic in terms of the hotel room itself. I would compare the room to something I would find in a downtown room in a small hick city. It was clean though :)

I think the best part of the venue was the choice of restaurants - very good Italian food, another great burger joint. The breakfast place was 'ok' but WAY better than hitting Denny's across the street (don't go there - it's gross).

The biggest issue I had with NY NY was being constantly approached by hookers in the casino bar. It's pretty obvious there is a group of ladies that 'work' that bar. Granted - this is vegas, but I just think it's pretty trashy for a place like that to let girls work the floor that heavy.

I have 2 trips planned for LV this year for work and definitely will not be staying at the NY NY - will check out other locations for sure.

Room Tip: Get a room close to an elevator - our room was a very very long walk from it.

Stayed here on our way to the Rose Bowl. Nice enough hotel with a charming atmosphere attempting to mimic the Big Apple (obviously!!). Lobby/casino area got fairly crowded each night, but rooms were good and restaurant choices were good...with one exception: The Nine Fine Irishmen. We were seated there and waited over 10 minutes and no one came to the table.

The remainder of the hotel was fine.

I spent a long weekend in Vegas in the summer of 2013, and I stayed at the New York, New York hotel and casino. Overall I was quite pleased with the experience. The rooms are well furnished, clean, quiet, and quite spacious. The rates are very affordable, and you can save even more if you shop around on-line for package deals.

The hotel itself has lots of interesting things do to right in the complex. Plenty of restaurants, bars, and even some shops, plus a video game arcade and a roller-coaster, to name just a few. The coaster itself was a bit of a let-down, as it was a very violent ride with lots of shaking, even with the new upgraded cars. But it's still worth it to ride it at least once. (Standard steel track, 2x2 cars with horse-collar restraints, and the ride has two inversions.)

The casino isn't as crowded as some of the other locations on the strip, but there is always something going on in there. Admittedly, gambling isn't really my thing, but I did wander through the casino a few times just to watch the action.

The rest of the strip is easily accessible on foot from the hotel, so you can leave your car in the covered parking garage if you want. (That's what I did.) Driving around the strip is a pain anyway, so it's usually better to just walk.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay at New York, New York. It's very affordable, yet it still looks and feels like a new hotel. Even if you plan to stay at a different hotel, it's worth it to wander through New York, New York just to check out all the cool things inside.

Room Tip: Try to get a room close to the elevators. Due to the unique layout of the hotel (many vertical colu...

We were in NYNY over New Year Eve celebrations. The holiday period may have caused some staff pressures as we received really poor level of service. Firstly, upon checkin, we were given a terrible room on the 4th floor next to the noisy industrial air-con unit. We asked to change the room and was told a flat and stern no. It was only after asking for a full refund that we were assigned a high level room. Second, in the next evening, we forgot our key and had to get a replacement. We waited over 30 mins in the queue at 3am in the morning, as there was only one poor attendant at the service desk. After lodging our complaint at the wait time, the resort fees were taken off our account. On the third morning, we were woken up at 9.30am with maintenance staff requesting to access our room to restart a wifi device for the internet connection in another room. The negatives aside, the room was very large and clean. The room service was tasty and prompt. And we must also commend the professionalism of Ryan and his manager Jennifer on duty for taking the initiative to compensate us for the inconveniences suffered on our second evening.

Room Tip: Do not accept a room on level 4 with noisy air con and roller coaster.

Everything and everyone we came into contact with at this resort were amazing. We utilized the casino, arcade, spa, room service, and a few of the restaurants and I have no complaints what so ever. The staff were all super friendly and helpful too!

Best place to stay for a middle of the road kinda guy looking to have great food with lots of options for variety and price. Great location, close to shops, stores and performers and walking distance to all the good stuff.

Room Tip: Get a room close to the elevator... it can be a long intoxicated walk othewise.
