“Average Vegas room”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2012 via mobile

My stay at NY NY was fairly good overall, but not as nice as other places I have stayed in Vegas. The room itself was fairly nice, it was clean and the base room was plenty large for me. My room had no view which was somewhat of a disappointment. The staff here was nice and friendly. I didn't use any other hotel services, so I am not able to comment on other services. The food choices here were more than adequate.

All in all, if this had been my first stay in Vegas and my room had a view, this would have been a better review. I have stayed in several other places here that I would rank above this hotel based on this stay.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us, we greatly appreciate it. We appreciate your feedback about our team members and recognizing them for being helpful and friendly! We apologize for your room not having a view during your stay. Our front desk team trys their very best to accomodate all guests requests, but are sometime unable to gurantee a high floor or a strip view, unless a strip view room is booked. We would love to assist you with your requests upon your return stay. PLease contact me when you are looking to come back to New York New York at guestservices@nyforme.com.

My husband and I recently spent four days and three nights at New York New York. While we normally stay at the Bellagio, this time our daughter was staying at NYNY and wanted us to come and meet her in Vegas so we stayed at NYNY to be close by. We were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed our visit. NYNY is very laid back. Felt very relaxed there. There is a wealth of restaurants and cute little shops. We arrived at 3PM on a Saturday. Very little wait time to check-in, our lady was very nice and courteous answering all our questions. Our room was very nicely decorated and clean. I will say not as fancy as Bellagio but that was okay. The cleaning lady Rosa kept our room nice and clean everyday. Room service was prompt. Very quiet -did not hear roller coaster which was outside our room. Couple of drawbacks-only one sink in bathroom and no coffee pot or frig in room. Otherwise my husband and I were completely satisfied.
As to the casino we rank it in our top three favorites in Vegas. Variety of games and attentive waitresses made playing the slots lots of fun.
So if you are looking for a fun, relaxing time at a reasonable price than NYNY is for you!

Room Tip: We stayed in Madison Avenue room, perfect for two people.

This was our first time to Vegas, and the New-York New-York was a great choice! Good location, and nice hotel. The room was nice, and we didn't experience any problems while staying there. I found alot of the casinos had strong/bad smells, but the NYNY was really good, the ceiling is high so probably allows for better air flow. Not alot of eating options for late at night since food places closed around 11, but I don't know if that's the same in other hotels or not. I would definitely stay at NYNY again.

Lots to do. A great variety of games, shops, and dining. Great value and great location. Staff is friendly too. I have stayed here several times and they keep me wanting to come back for future stays as well.

We stayed at NYNY with our football team for a tournament because we thought it would be one of the more fun places to stay with kids... (Circus Circus is dirty and horrible), but the only thing different from most other hotels was the roller coaster. It was a good roller coaster, everybody like it. I realize it's the only roller coaster on the strip, but the price to ride it once is ridiculous. If you do ride it, it's worth it to get the pass to ride it all day.

The rooms were ok., but are about ready for an update. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean, as long as you don't look behind the dresser for an outlet... dust was so thick you couldn't see the lamp cord. I expected a little bit more for the price of the room. (no refrigerator, no coffee maker), but this is pretty much the case on the strip. And they charge extra for an additional kid to stay in a room with two adults with two queen beds??? An extra $30 for a 9 year old? (Not that I paid it anyway, but still) . They charge a typical resort fee for a bunch of stuff you don't use except internet, but that's Vegas.

We have two kids and they like to play Playstation in the hotel room at night. The TV's do not allow a Playstation to be hooked up which is not cool. They specifically don't allow you to change the "source" so you can't access the HDMI port even though you have something plugged into it. For this reason alone I probably would not stay here again with kids.

The casino was clean and lively. We ate at one restaurant near the arcade, Nathan's, pretty good food at a reasonable price, although we had to clean off the tables ourselves before sitting down (workers didn't really care). Our friends ate at The Sporting House and said the food was really good and the atmosphere was cool. One thing we didi like was the location, because it's on a major corner, we found it easy to get to the side streets and freeway. Also, it's right across the street from the M&M World and a food court.

Overall the stay was okay, but I don't think we'll stay at NYNY again, because the rooms are getting old, and this hotel seems to be caught in between... no real compelling reason to stay there with kids, and without kids there seems to be better, nicer places to stay for the same $$$.

Room Tip: Ask for a room close to the elevators, cause if you get a room at the end, it will take you 10 minut...

New York New York was a great place to stay. Stayed here four nights with the family. The location was great, customer service excellent and price was really good. We had previously stayed at ceasers the night before, but much preferred here with a more relaxed and happy setting.

We stayed in the Empire Tower which is very conveniently located to check-in, valet, the bell desk, the lobby bar, the casino floor and America restaurant. The staff was friendly, our room and the casino were very clean, and it was a great value for such a good locacation. I've stayed at many locations in Vegas and the New York New York is by far the best for the buck!

Thanks, Jeff
