“Relaxing Visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2012

We were given a room on the 34th floor , what a view !!. We have stayed in Las Vegas before and many rooms have over looked the parking lot , this was a pleasant surprise . We did have a problem with two restaurants not wanting to accept our M Life rewards cards ,in order to credit us for what we spent there .Those restaurants were nine fine Irishmen and America .

This was our first trip to Vegas, family of four - me, hubby, son 15, daughter 12. Our first impression was "Wow"!! It's a huge hotel but was very easy to get around, the check in queue was a bit long & seemed to take ages but we were too busy noseying at what was going on around us to take much notice! We arrived just before lunch, queued for about half an hour, checked in, lovely staff, but couldn't get into our room till 3pm so left our bags with the hotel & went to the South Premium outlet (which is a must do if you love shopping).
We returned around 7ish and went to our room which was a Park Avenue Deluxe with strip view, we were on the 26th floor, just above the rollercoaster which you could hear very faintly but wasn't enough to be a problem. We had a fantastic view of the strip & the room was fab, very comfy beds.
We ate at Chin Chin a couple of times, once for dinner & again the breakfast buffet, both times delicious! We had a couple of drinks at the Irish bar one night whilst the kids were in the arcade which they loved. There's a good variety of shops & restuarants, Starbucks is handy as the rooms have no coffee makers - or fridges - but it's gets really busy first thing in the morning.
The casino is fine, not smoky at all & I speak as a non-smoker who hates being in smoky places, you could smell it occasionally but it wasn't overbearing unlike the Excalibur which you could smell as soon as you stepped on the conveyor belt that takes you into the hotel - dirty, awful place but that's a whole other story!!
NYNY is a great family hotel, we all loved it & can't wait to come back again in a couple of years time - wouldn't stay anywhere else.....except maybe the Bellagio!!!!... but way out of our price range!!! :)

The location of this property is wonderful. You have the option of visiting several properties that are close by. The room we stayed in was very nice. Check in was speedy with no problems. The American Cafe has a great breakfast, the pizza stand has good pizza and a special deal on pizza and a beer. The selection of slots is decent and overall we had a great experience here. I guess my only complaint would be the "resort fees" that so many of the properties are charging. Just one way of getting a little more for the room.

Staff and help were excellent. Room was a good size and comfortable. It had a 42" flat screen with many free channels, but we didn't spend much time in it.The way the main floor is set up like New York Streets is unique. Room was on the 21st floor but the express elevators made the trip very quickly. I am definitely going back.

My wife and I have been going to Las Vegas for several years now .We try to stay at a different hotel each visit. Our last stay at New York New York was by far the best stay yet.The room was fantastic and the food and entertainment were great. It will be hard to go back to Las Vegas and stay anywhere else.

Room Tip: We always ask for a room close to the elevators

One of the more interesting and iconic hotels on the strip. Booked in advance and got a great cheap deal on Expedia, that included a buffet breakfast on one morning. Checked in early and was upgraded to a better room. Not much of a view but that's not important in Vegas! $18/day "resort fee" is a bit rich but not uncommon in Vegas, and does include wifi. Clean, spacious modern room with a very comfy bed. Plenty of great bars/eateries with friendly service, plus the casino area is also great. Right on the strip, walking distance to most other casinos and shops. Had a great 3 nights here- highly recommended!

stayed there oct 2012, great value for money, not the best air system in the casino, it smelt of smoke and could only get smoking rooms even though we booked none smoking, i hate smoke but it didnt bother me so couldnt have been that bad, check in was easy and so was valet, kids loved it too loads of places to eat and drink we only had snacks there after a day on the strip though, pool didnt have much sun just couple of hours in the day so dont use this hotel if you want it as a pool holiday, my only complaint was the cushioned headboard smelt of smoak but i just moved my pillows down a bit and had the best three nights sleep ever i have never slept in a better bed and i have stayed in a lot of hotels, overall well worth the money we paid and would deffo stay again great atmoshphere

Room Tip: we chose a strip view room not a great view of the strip, i did see a room with a big spa bath sin i...
