“Fantastic, fun hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2011

Stayed here for a week for my partners 30th birthday trip to Vegas!! We loved the hotel!!! We have stayed in several luxury hotels before but wanted something typically "Vegas like" so wanted a theme hotel that was lots of fun. Hotel did not dissapoint at all. Was definetly our favourite hotel for the themed element and also the buzzing vibe inside the hotel. The Greenwich cafe is fantastic for breakfast with lots of choice and great value, Il Fornaio is a nice italian restaurant which is ideal if you want a late evening meal!! (share a starter there huge!). Never had any trouble at all getting drinks whilst gambline, always fast and friendly service. No long queue at check in and room was ready when we arrived at around 12:30 lunchtime! Room was large with a great bed and tv and very clean. Never heard any noise at all from rollercoaster (it stops running at 11pm anyway)
Location is fantastic, for us we would always want to stay down the southern end as its just much nicer!
Would agree with the comments about the pool - we were so busy at it was our first trip to Vegas that we didnt want to use the pool, however if you want a good pool, and wehn we go back we probarbly would stay somewhere else just because it was way too small and crowded.
Fantastic hotel, no problems at all, would definetly recoomend to people that want a good time in a gret atmosphere.

Room Tip: Wouldnt really bother with upgrading rooms if like us your only really going to be sleeping in it...

The New York New York Las Vagas good location on the strp. Rooms clean and comfortable you have to pay extra for a view. The check in quick and easy. plenty of good restaurants you have to try the pizzas huge and value for money. There are some good bars in the hotel but you have to pay to get in after a certain time which I felt was a bit of a rip off has we where staying at the hotel. The pool on the small size for the amount of guests staying at the hotel.

We did a Helicopter ride over the grand canyon worth doing we went with Adventure Photo Tours our guide Tim had good knowladge of the area and made the long trip to the canyon interesting. We also went on the coast trip to LA disappointed Santa Monica Beach needed a face lift a bit tatty Hollywood Blvd didn't fair any better but glad we went just for the experience. The guides on the trip expect a tip and tell you has you board the bus which is a bit of a put off as they go on to tell you about there family and how your tip will help maintain there life style.

All in all enjoyed Las Vagas and the New York New York better then most on the strip.

Room as such is okay, but it takes long to reach that place. No special entrance from the reception desk to the hotel room; all you have to do is walk through the Casino filled with smoke and booze. With kids it is difficult.
There was no boilers in the room for making coffee and Strbucks in the hotel closes at 10 PM I believe; opens only at 6 AM. So if you want a coffee, walk across the road to a food court !!
Though we stayed in 14th florr (non smoking), the carpet and the rooms were stinking of nicotine. It was okay as a sleeping place, nothing more.

Absolutely loved my stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, the location was great and although we had a standard room with two beds it was huge! Love the theme and the variety of choices in the bars. I will be back!

I arrived on 4th of July at 7pm and check in was quick. I stayed in room 739 and it was clean and spacious. I loved the location since it is at the begining of the strip which made walking around easily. The circ o soleil Zumanity show is in the hotel and its A+. The roller coaster is cool. I would stay there again

We stayed here from the 7-10th of July 2011. It was okay. Our room still wasn't ready at 3pm and the check in process was quite long including a lot of upselling for us to upgrade to a more expensive room. The room itself was very spacious and comfortable although it took a good 5 minutes to reach it through a series of winding corridors once getting off the elevator on our floor. We found a used towel in our room upon check in and contacted the front desk who told us it must have been missed, no apology, nothing. I wasn't impressed with having to pay the resort fee for the amount/quality of amenities that we got in return. Went to the business center to find that using the internet there would incur a large charge (larger than anywhere else we stayed).

Overall I found the experience to be okay, not bad but not really good either. I would not return. For the price we paid I feel we could have stayed elsewhere and had a better experience.

We stayed 3 nights at the NY, Ny during our recent vacation July 10-14. My daughter wanted to stay here because we celebrated her 10th birthday in Vegas.

A few things, the location is great. The check in process, not so good. We stayed at the Luxor, Venetian and Mirage during our 10 day trip and walked up, checked in, and actually rec'd an upgrade on our rooms at the Luxor and Venetian at no extra charge. The check in at NY NY is very slow. The girl that checked us in was terrible, didn't know what she was doing and room still wasn't ready at 3 PM! Our rooms were ready before 3 at the other places. Now I do realize that hotels are full and they sometimes run behind but we had tickets to an early show at 7 and needed to get our luggage, get unpacked and ready for our evening. After a few phone calls we were able to get into the room.

We had a Broaday Premium room with Strip view-could see the MGM and the roller coaster out of window. Our room was big and very spacious. We dined at the America restaurant downstairs several times and it was very good. Overall, this resort is kid friendly with an arcade and the roller coaster. The cost to ride is $14 so get an all day Scream pass if you want to ride multiple times like my kids did. I think we did it 10 times!!

The resort fee was $15, I didn't have a resort fee at the other properties. We never picked up a paper daily but we did use the internet.

Overall, great stay and nice hotel.
