“Not anything like we expected”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

We have stayed at Mohegan Sun and The Bethlehem Sands and loved both places. We were so disappointed in MGM that it made us anxious to leave. Check in was a cattle shoot that took over 40 minutes before we got to the desk. The room was tiny with an open bathroom (no real privacy at all). We had to hike almost a half mile for coffee as there was no pot in the room.

We hated and I doubt we will ever go back.

We stayed here over Labor Day weekend. He place was acked but overall the rooms were very clean and access to the strip was easy. Parking was not far and was free. The rooms were small but the bed was very comfortable and the shower was nice with good water pressure (you don't think of this til he water pressure is poor). If we go back, we would stay again.

Dear Naye13:

There is no better place to celebrate a special occasion than MGM Grand. Thank you for visiting us this Labor Day Weekend. We are so glad that you enjoyed your time with us, and that you would come back and see us again in the future. We do regret the in-room plumbing issues you encountered. Rest assured we will look into this matter.

Additionally, please know that if your rooms were a bit small for your tastes, we do offer a wide variety of alternatives to better serve your needs. Your comfort is important to us. We value your feedback, and look forward to your return.

Sincerely,

Lori Pastor

We had a wonderful stay with the exception of the check in process. We waited almost an hour on a Sunday afternoon. Fortunately, the room, an executive king suite almost made up for the wait. We had the fourth floor and had a wonderful view of the ventilation system on top of the hotel. The room was comfortable and the amenities in and around the hotel were great. Check out is at 11:00 am but a simple phone call in the morning can delay that until 12:00 pm unless of course you pay for the late check-out option, which may or may not be available depending on the crowd. Just a note, the check-out process in just as long as the check in and as our television check-out was not working, another long wait was in order. There are boxes for check out or the option of a phone call or text are also available except I needed a printed bill at that time.

The hotel, like most in Vegas, is vast. So big, it lacks any sense of caring about its guests or the experience they receive. Staff were friendly enough & theroom was clean, although slightly tired & the whole building smells of cigarette smoke. Restaurants are of an average quality and generally overpriced compared to many other US cities, although about the going rate for Vegas.
The casino is a experience, if its your thing, then fine.

Pool complex is very good, as is the conference facility.

We stayed here from 24th August till 31st August in a petite king room. Maid service every day was great (didn't actually expect every day-so was a nice bonus being every day)

Bed was super comfy, and air con a god send! We were on 10th floor at the back end of the hotel- we had views of strip though. Didn't use internet (im on holiday!!) or any of the other room services so cant comment on those. Didn't use the pool either, as we were so busy doing all the other things Vegas has to offer, although Wet Republic sounded brilliant- and they had Calvin Harris on whilst we were there too!

Casino was great- lots of different types of machines, and the usual tables, we were lucky enough to win a few hundred dollars overall, so that kept us happy!

Hotel staff were always really helpful and friendly. We used a few of the bars and restaurants, which I will review separately!

All in all a great stay- I would stay here again and would recommend to others!

It was my son's 21st birthday last weekend and I had booked 2 nights at the MGM Grand.
We met up at the airport in Vegas Friday afternoon. I have read on the hotel's website that you could check into the hotel at the airport. So we did. And there she was!!!!! MARNI, probably the best hotel receptionist I have ever encountered. She was so friendly and set the tone for a great 21st birthday at the MGM. She made sure we had a great view of the strip and we were well taken care of at the hotel. What a treat to get to the hotel and see the long line at check in and we just marched straight up to our room. The room was clean and very comfortable with a stunning view of the strip. We had a fantastic 3 days in Vegas and the staff at the MGM is outstanding. Every staff member we met was extremely friendly and exceeded our expectations. We had rented a Cabana bed at the adult pool and had super fun.
Unfortunately we had to check out on Sunday morning to head back home. We were in line at the check out counter and guess who was there to check us out? MARNi!!!!!!
What are the chances!!!! The management at the MGM must have a great customer service training program. Job well done. I am impressed with running a hotel this size and offer this great service. Thank you again MARNI for making our trip so special!!!
