Mandalay is a classy hotel/casino. The amenities they provide are among the best. There's never a dull moment inside the hotel. There's a lot of choices for entertainment, dining, playing, etc. Or if you just want to rest & feel relaxed, their rooms provide the most luxurious beds & linens.

My husband , 7 year old son, elderly parents and I spent 3 nights at the Mandalay Bay. The service was great and the hotel was very family friendly. We visited the Shark Reef and took in the Michael Jackson Cirque du Soleil show.

The arrangement of the hotel was perfect for kids, so that you weren't always walking through the casino. We also visited the pool area, and my son had a blast at the Wave pool, as well as the Lazy River, just be prepared to pay $20-$24 per inner tube.

The hotel room was spacious so that we didn't feel crowded and my son had room to play with his toys. The rooms were also clean and well kept. Additionally, the rooms were well sound-proofed, so we weren't awaken by other travelers stumbling in at the wee hours of the night from a night of gambling . Would definitely recommend to families traveling to Vegas.

We will definitely stay here again and would especially recommend to families.

We waited over an hour and a half in the checkin line with 3 children. All the while grinders, jackhammers, and saws we all going off right beside us in the lobby under construction. Most people were plugging their ears or wearing headphones. Having a hotel this size I do not see why they could not have relocated checkin to another area especially having guests wait for so long.(only half the checkin counters opened) Finally arriving at the checkin counter I was not even greeted never mind an apology. He simply said.... Credit card and ID please. They should have had greeters walking around apologizing and handing out earplugs at the very least. Defiantly a very poor start to our trip.

I am finishing up my stay in Mandalay Bay after 6 nights with my family. This was my third and very likely last stay here. Everything went wrong this time. Instead of getting an apartment room in their sister hotel The Hotel we were moved to a regular room in the Mandalay main tower. They happily gave us beach view. It worked Ok for one night. Next three were stay from hell because of their concerts on the beach! Noise in awful, nothing can muffle it. They party until midnight at least. One more very annoying thing beside very crowded beach is that they close it one hour earlier on the concert nights. It would be nice if they published their concert schedules somewhere so people could know what that means. All in all it looks to me they are only and only after you money and to get you in and out of here as soon as they can. I think miracle should happen for me to come here again with my family. My hard earn money I can leave somewhere else. Really if you have family in mind and want fun on the pool go away from Mandalay in the future, just not worth the effort, too crowded and it is the king of the Las Vegas noise!

Room Tip: Do not call, try to get it on your own the best you can. They cheat over the phone and charge you fo...

Hello Sashalvans,

Thank you for your continued and loyal patronage. We know our Las Vegas travelers have endless hotel options, and we genuinely appreciate having multiple opportunities to host you at Mandalay Bay. We extend our sincerest apologies for the noise disturbances you encountered because of our pool concert events during your stay. Please know that our pool concert events are publicly posted on our website and are also advertised throughout our property. We definitely understand your frustrations and regret you were not informed of the possible noise during your check-in process. We hope we can address your comments further with you and offset these difficulties. We value your feedback and would be delighted to have the possibility of welcoming back to our resort so that you may experience it as you have in the past.

Kind regards,
Tosha Tanner

My wife and I spent a long weekend in Vegas, Thursday through Sunday, just for a romantic get-away. We found a great rate through the Mandalay Bay website that included a room, airfare and a $50 "on Property" food credit.

This is referred to as a 4 star hotel... but in my personal opinion it is more a solid three star hotel.

The 43 story Mandalay Bay has 3,309 hotel rooms, in three joined towers, 24 elevators, and a second 43 story tower with 1,120 rooms joined to the Mandalay Bay by the casino, and called either THEhotel at Mandalay Bay or Delano - their signage has both names through out. The top 4 or 5 floors of the Mandalay Bay are the Four Seasons Hotel and are accessed internally through a long hallway off the Mandalay Bay front desk or a separate exterior entrance.

The property also includes the Mandalay Beach, an 11 acres pool area with three heated pools, a wave pool, and a lazy river and sandy beaches. There is a 21 and over TOPtional area with tops optional. The Convention Center is also attached to the hotel.

The Good: Over all we had a great trip. Our room was comfortable, the furnishings were adequate, the property, for the most part was very clean, and the staff friendly and attentive for a "resort hotel and convention center" with over 4000 rooms. With outside temperatures in the triple digits it seems like a good idea to go to a property with everything you may want under "one roof" - no running up and down the strip, worrying about finding taxis and making reservation times across town. You have your hotel, spa, gym, beach, casino, and a variety of restaurants in on place, or maybe not...

The Bad: Everything about this hotel is designed to drive customers out of their rooms and into the casinos and restaurants. Your room TV doesn't get the major networks, there is no in-room coffee maker, a hotel staple for the last 30 years. There are 8 "express" elevator assigned to 12 or so floors, but I don't think more than 3 are operating at one time.

Not unusual that the in-room food and beverages are steeply priced, but you are warned several times that the items are on sensors and that you would be charged for just touching the items... and of course not all the labels are visible the way they are stocked. If you take something out and put it back or place your personal items in the fridge, you are also subject to a $50 restocking fee.

I think someone used our bed for a trampoline. It sagged in the middle. The rooms are dimly lit, several lamps, but low wattage bulbs. The walls are fairly thin and you will hear everyone that walks down the hall or whenever your neighbor flushes the toilet. We were in a resort hotel with multiple pools, sand beaches, a nice (if small for a 4000 room hotel) cardio room and a full spa. In a King room, where presumably 2 adults would enjoy these features there are 3 bath towels, just 3. So you can shower when you get up, or after a work out or after a trip to the beach or before dinner, but you better be selective, because there aren't more towels and not an adequate way to hang them if you wanted to reuse them.

The signs in the casino are great. The further you get from the casino the worst the signs get. I was at the beach area 3 times and never could find the jogging path. There is a single marked taxi stand on this 4000+ room property, right at the main casino. The wait was typically more than 40 minutes, unless you knew that there were actually at least 3 other taxi pick up locations if you knew where to look, but they were not marked and the staff did not direct you there.

The hotel does not provide any shuttle service to McCarren Airport, which is basically just across the street, so expect to pay about $20 for a cab ride.

The main hotel is 15 years old and is showing its age... carpets are worn, doors are warped, cracks though the marble flooring, rust on some fixtures, clogged holes in the showerheads etc.

The Ugly: All roads lead through the casinos - not a surprise as this is the money maker, but the cigarette and cigar smoke can be overwhelming. Expect to have to weave your way through the casinos to get any where... there will be children, strollers, bikinis, bare chested men, families with luggage and coolers (and the weekends, lots of drunks) all competing to make there way from place to place. You will pay for WiFi and expect both the WiFi and the TV to lose signals on a pretty regular basis... like once or twice an hour.

Although the hotel boasts a buffet and more than 20 restaurants, it seems like the majority of the food comes from a communal kitchen buried in the depths of the hotel - the same flavors, same ingredients and even the same menu items over and over. The only restaurants that seem to have their own kitchen are the ones in "Mandalay Place", the elevated walkway between Mandalay Bay and the Luxor. For the most part, the food is served tepid... as if it has travelled from a distant kitchen. It is okay, but certainly not stellar.

The staff seems confused at to what is part of the "property" and what is not, and even what it is named. The Mandalay Bay spa was booked so I was booked at THEhotel spa, which is in the tower that says "Delano" and the signs in the hall and lobby say "Delano" but it is apparently THEhotel.
When we booked though Mandalay Bay for our trip, we were given a $50 food credit for "any restaurant on the property", yet when the credit didn't show, the Concierge stated that the "Charlie Palmer Steakhouse" was part of the Four Seasons, not the Mandalay Bay (a manager had to correct it). The Four Season's desk is connected to the Mandalay Bay desk though a nice corridor overlooking the pool area, yet no one knew who was supposed to clean up a coffee spill (and it had to be a full cup of coffee) we saw at 8am, between the lobbies and it was still there at 9pm the same day.

I think our next trip will be to a different property, probably a newer one and a 4 or 5 star that eared their stars this century. An while we liked the "everything under one roof concept" if everything is just average, you may as well go out to other venues.
