“I've stayed here many times”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2014

What I like about this property is the way it is laid out. You don't have to walk through the casino to get anywhere - you walk around it. It doesn't feel claustrophobic like some other properties do (new york new york, the flamingo). I found the staff at reception to be very helpful.

my first room - way too noisy (the neighbors - due to a connecting door - i could hear them and their tv) I asked to be moved --- bellman came up with new keys - went to the 2nd room (keys don't work) - went down to the desk (now i'm pissed) - they put me in a wonderful room - great view of the strip --- no connecting door.

what i dislike -- all the kids. strollers and obnoxious music at the adult pool. I understand that many families go to this property for the wave pool -- but seriously - vegas is being overrun by strollers and infants.

the restaurants here range from $-$$$$$$$ --- Raffles cafe is quick and easy, not a bad breakfast buffet, i've never eaten in the more expensive restaurants.

would i stay here again - ---- probably--- as long as i got a good quiet room

My boyfriend and I stayed at Mandalay Bay for two weeks..it was a absolute wonderful place to stay, this is our second visit to Las Vegas and first stay at Mandalay. The room we got was on 31st floor and strip view it was fantastic.
We have actually booked again already for next year and we are coming back to Mandalay it is going to be hard to stay anywhere else in Vegas.
Pools are brilliant plenty of space for sunbathing and food is excellent in buffet...We were here for UFC Fight week so the hotel was pretty busy..I'm giving five stars but would give it more if I could. Friendly staff and very clean. Highly recommend this hotel without a doubt.

Overall a nice stay. Comfortable beds. Nice bathroom with bathtub and a separate door for toilet privacy (lacking at Luxor tower rooms). Plenty of food, entertainment and gaming choices. One problem. Upon arrival one of the towels had a black smear/stain. No view except of roof.

First experience of Las Vegas - scale of everything was over the top. Having searched and booked the room online, was pleasantly surprised. Room was a 2br in a v shape with a room with 2 queen beds for the kids with their own bathroom and a king room for myself and wife. In between the 2 bedrooms was a large lounge/dining and kitchenette area. Upon check in, was told by reception that the mini bar fridge was automatic so everything taken out was charged whether it was returned or not - bit of a problem with 2 hungry and thirsty kids. Luckily we were told there was a second fridge which we could use for our own food and drinks we had brought along. Upon entering the room, we discovered there was not a second fridge so after ringing housekeeping they delivered a second fridge and plonked it in the middle of the entrance area - oh well, at least we had a second fridge.
Pool area was pretty spectacular with a wave pool and a circulating "river". Lots of people on the river relaxing in inflatable rings, the kids were dying to try it out but the downside was the rings had to be purchased outright at US$20+ - someone would have made a fortune hiring them out for $10 for a couple of hours.
Comparing the room cost to what we would pay in Australia was great value.

We reserved our reservations on short notice, based on pictures and reviews. maybe we should of spent some extra time on research. But, we booked there because of the nice pool and relax area. Unfortunately, I think the 2000 other people might of done the same..there wasn't any room at all for relaxation. The restaurants, cafes, coffee shops and room service was basically horrible..in quality of food and price. Lunch is easily 50-75 USD for tacos, burgers and simple things. We refused to have supper there. We ordered room service 1 night after a show..85$ later and less than half the meal eaten..very disappointing. Room was very basic..even though we were in a deluxe. Valets were very good though and very helpful for directions and advice to find better food places and shopping. Also,be very careful with the mini bar as it is pressure point sensitive..so if you move anything it will charge your room.

Room Tip: if you want a vegas strip view - be willing to pay a lot for the north east tower..good luck getting...

Green Features: Didn't notice any visible signs of practices. There was no information in the room regarding any. I didn't see any recycling options while walking around the resort.

This being my 4th time to Vegas and possibly last, we stayed here for 2 reasons my husband's school reunion and immediately following a convention/conference. The hotel was just ok, the staff was pleasant enough. It's the little things that they need to improve on.The room was relatively clean, furnishing were old. The maids never cleaned the ice bucket, never even emptied it, we did it everyday ourselves, the bathroom sink made a constant gurgling noise. The batteries in the remote needed to be changed we left a note for the maid she took the remote and never returned it.The pool staff never picks up abandoned towels or trash around the pool during the day. I found all the nickel and diming to be a total turn off, you pay a resort fee, but still charged for tubes if you use the lazy river. Lets not even talk about the price of renting a cabana $$$$$! We needed to receive a fed ex letter, the resort fee for accepting the letter was $7 thats right just to accept it and $10 if you wanted it brought to the front desk or sent to your room, otherwise you had to pick it up at the business center, which we did. This was my first time in Vegas in the middle of summer - way too over crowed, way too many little children, Also as my husband put it you were isolated from the rest of the strip.

Room Tip: Mainly geared younger adults. Rooms with a pool view are noisy at night.
