“Fun place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2014

My husband and I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. The lobby is very pretty, well appointed, happening with great Vegas energy. Our room was well appointed, clean, the highlight was the great view of the pool, with the airport and mountains in the distance. We were totally fine with the accommodations. His and her closets were nice, I hate fighting for hangers!

I just love the energy of Vegas! We didn't spend to much time at the pool which I understand is a highlight. My husband went everyday to ride the waves for a little while, but it was 100 degress out, so it made sitting in the sun for long unbearable for me, not my thing. But plenty of people were doing it.

The wo things I would mention to people that aren't a problem with this hotel at all, we would certainly stay here again! But as with any of the Vegas hotels, cab lines are long, so if you have plans or reservations off campus, give yourself plenty of time to get a cab. The cab line moves, but at times is crazy long! Also, the Mandalay Bay is at the end of The Strip, we were fine with this. We didn't find it to be an inconvenience at all. It wouldn't deter us from going back, I'm just putting it out there.

We had a wonderful dinner at Lupo. I recommend.

All in all, a great place to stay.

This hotel was very clean and well maintained. Very impressed with the front desk and housekeeping. We arrived very early and were able to check in early, no lines! When we needed housekeeping (once to bring up a frig and once to fix the safe), they arrived in less than 10 minutes! The sand and wave pool were a very nice added feature, although the chairs on the beach were so close together you couldn't walk between them. They offered a pay for a chair and umbrella area that had a bit more room but a hefty price (starting at $50/day!). Nice feature is the tram starts right at the Mandalay.

Room Tip: The lower the floor the better otherwise the elevator will stop at practically every floor.

A great hotel for both young and old.
The pool area could use a lot more shade in the 100+ heat.
Check in and out were fast.
All staff were friendly and helpful
Rooms were very clean and well appointed, except could use more chairs for sitting. There was only 1 desk chair?

Always, everything is about location. Vegas is no different. Sure there are cabs and everything is far away from everything else no matter what, but Mandalay takes the cake. The hotel itself is nice and well-kept. The rooms are spacious and clean. The pool is vibrant and the dayclub is hopping. The restaurant selection is good but I likely wouldn't recommend fleur. Underwhelmed by the menu, the service and the food. RK Seafood was a great spot for a business dinner followed by an amazing view of the city at Mix. Citizen had good basic meals and Strip Steak lived up to it's delicious reputation. Try the blue cheese stuffed olives in their dirty martini. I just wish I had made it to Aureole. The ground floor of the hotel, like many, is a casino. Sure this is great for 3am gambling but going to and from a convention and dinners leave you smelling of smoke and gasping for air. I'm going for a smoke-free hotel next year but that's just my preference. I don't gamble much and would prefer to go to the gambling and leave the gambling and not have it surround my coming and going each moment.

I enjoyed my stay at Mandalay Bay. Although there was a line to check in, it moved fairly quickly. The room was spacious, bed comfortable. My room was on the pool side, which was a nice view, but there were concerts going on into well into the night that were a bit disruptive. I enjoy being up all night as much as the next person, but there was a point I wish the concert would end. There were plenty of restaurants and things to do. I also took in Michael Jackson ONE, which was A-AMAZING! A must see! My one "con" is it does feel away from the action on the far end of the strip just about at the airport. It felt very remote, even though there is still a lot to do. Yes, the tram was available but part of the fun of Vegas is to be "in the action". So, if you want to get in one place and stay there it is perfect.

My kids love it here because of the pools to bad they don't have an arcade. But food is great they have all the best concerts here overall great place to stay. Also try the border grill there food is amazing it's a bit away from the gaming it's worth the walk ...
