“Expected much better - overall "fine" but continually disappointed.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2013

Lots to tell here. My daughter and I met in Vegas (her first trip) and we selected Mandalay Bay because of their pool. Two days before the trip we received a special promotion where we could upgrade to Mandalay Bay's all suite hotel, THEHotel for a great rate, so we did. Huge check on line which seemed odd and each guest took forever to check in. Never figured out why? When we got to the room we hated our view so requested another room. We were met with absolutely nasty response by 3 of the staff we encountered. We were treated so badly that we pulled out our laptop and started searching for other hotels available in Vegas so we could switch. However, I then went to a manager and they switched us back to Mandalay Bay and got us a room that we liked. The manager's ability to make this change for us proved that the surly staff before him were not only nasty but dishonest! Anyway. Our room then was great and we were happy.
Tip: pool open at 8 and if you want a good spot you'd better reserve your spot by then. At 9am you'll have a hard time finding an open spot. Not that there are tons of people at the pool at that time, but the hotel allows people to lay towels on chairs all day so it seems that's what people do. Probably should change that policy.
The buffet at the hotel is NOT GOOD and certainly not worth it (will review separately).
So....will likely not stay here again and try one of the other options for hotels in Vegas.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the Strip! And don't go for the upgrade to THEHotel unless you keep your curt...

This place is awesome, but if you have kids it can be somewhat difficult to find kid style food. There "food court" is mostly not used unless there's an event in the convention center. Not good for kids.

One of my fav LV hotels! Hotel and casino has a relaxing feel, staff is always very nice. Some people whine that its at the end of the strip, I think it makes it better honestly because you have less people who are not staying at the hotel in the casino and what not that way. I wont visit w/o renting a car so it being at the end of the strip makes me not care, but thats me.

Great hotel. The staff is great. They are friendly and will help with whatever you need. May want to find another casino if you want to gamble. The food and places to eat are great also. The pools are nice. Lots of children. May want to spend the extra money for the adult pool if you do not have children. All in all this was a great trip and this is a very good hotel to stay at. The hotel itself is pretty quiet.

I had a great time staying at Mandalay Bay for business. Our business meeting was at the Mandalay Bay Bayside D which was convenient while staying at the hotel. My only issue was the walk from the lobby to the Convention Center. It was literally a mile long walk, but I guess it was good exercise. My room was very clean and the view was great. The decor was awesome too.

Mandalay Bay has just about everything for you to enjoy your stay in Vegas whether it is for business or pleasure. The large property includes not only a casino, if you are into that kind of thing, but a large pool complex with a wave pool, beach, outdoor casino, lazy river, and multiple restaurants to choose from. Food prices are high but quality is very good. Great family resort but eating out can bite into your budget. My check-in was extremely long (over an hour) but understand there were several conferences at the resort. Check out was easy by receipt of an email the night before to direct you to a website when you are leaving. Easy cheesy. Overall, very good stay to enjoy Vegas.

Room Tip: Consider expanding eco-friendly efforts by using room card to turn off electricity (except A/C) to t...

Thought this was going to be a great stay until we got to check in and queued for 1 hour 20 mins!! Apparently this is not uncommon according to the check in staff.
If they know its that busy why don't they put on extra staff?
The queues for the lifts were also depressing, especially when we just wanted to go bak to our room.
The pool was hell on earth. it was so busy we only went once,
Excellent views of the strip
Wynn for us in future, we wont be tempted to try somewhere different next time

Dear skintbint,

We genuinely apologize for the extended wait times you encountered upon your arrival and for our guest room elevators. We continually brainstorm new ways to keep wait times to a minimum during high occupancy times as there is need for improvement in this area. Thank you for your input on this matter and it would be our pleasure to have another opportunity to serve you.

Kind regards,
Tosha Tanner
