“All around good time a good hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013

Las Vegas has so much to offer in terms of hotels and entertainment. My rating is based on a business trip that was coupled with a little R&R. My overall impression of the hotel was really good and the staff did go out of there way to make our stay enjoyable. So service was very good. I will highlight a few best experiences and from there a few comments as what you may like to consider when booking.

1. Room was great and do get a view for the beachside as the highway is not as nice.
2. The Beach was great and was well kept.
3. The restaurants around the hotel offered some really good variety - we split some meals as we opted for a variety in dining entrees and it made sense price wise. Ask for them to do this and you will be accomodated.
4. The shows - do this when you are there and not on line - you may change your mind or just want to get a better deal - we got better prices by going to the places where they sold tickets directly not at the hotel.
5. Monorail was great and connects you all over.
6. If you do not ask, you do not get. - The hotel staff upon check in gave us a voucher for various restaurants and this was "very nice" as it saved a few bucks.
7. We really enjoyed the live bands at the hotel and that was a highlight.

Only one thing we did not like, we did change rooms once as the elevator noise kept us up so I would recommend staying away from rooms near the elevators. All in all a great stay and we would go back.

Room Tip: Stay away from the rooms near the elevators if you are light sleeper.

We stayed at Mandalay Bay AAAA++++ and saw UFC 155 . Awesome time with friends and my girl! The hotel is my favorite in Las Vegas! We have been all over Vegas and this is by far the best!!. The rooms in the hotel are spacious and comfortable! The casino is great as well!!The UFC fight was great at MGM. On the floor ringside !!

This hotel is okay, but there are much better hotels for the price. After 45-minute wait to check in, the keys did not work. Elevator capacity simply does not meet the hotels needs, and very long waits to go up and down. There were no towels left 2 mornings, and a 2-3 hour wait and multiple phone calls to get towels brought up. Charged for entire mini-bar in room when only 1 item was touched. The bed and linens are inferior quality. Only positive was rooms are very quiet, and it had a nice view of the strip. Will not stay here again.

A series of small things added up to a less than ideal stay.

Checked in Friday night and had to wait 45 minutes as there weren't enough front desk people to handle the volume. Shouldn't they be well staffed on Friday night?

Then had a problem with the lock on our door. Security had to open the door with a crowbar and replace the lock. I was then in the room when the maid tried to clean. When I left for dinner I asked the maid to clean the room. She said she was going on a shift change and would have the next shift clean it. They didn't. And then the breakfast buffet wasn't nearly as good as at another hotel I ate at.

They did comp breakfasts for us and checked in to ask how our stay was going. Everyone was very friendly. But overall, lots of small things added up to a so-so stay.

And it is also the furthest south hotel on the strip so you have to walk a bit to get in the middle of the hustle and bustle.

This hotel is like a mini city many restuarants and bars. We spent New Years Eve here had a great time in one of the small bars with a live group. Easy acccess to the Luxor which was joined by the walkway of shops etc..
It is at the far end of the strip, but, via the mono rail it is easy to hop on and off along the strip, much faster than the bus or taxi.
The rooms are large and the beds and pillows are so comfortable.
Brad Garretts comed club is so worth a visit. (not for the faint at heart) Also Celine Dion show was so wonderful.
The only complaint was the shock of a $230 dollars resort tax that we were unaware of when we checked out.?
This Hotel and flight was booked one year ago as a package with British Airways, and there was no mention of this tax. (six nights)

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for choosing to stay at Mandalay Bay once again, especially on such a special holiday as New Year’s! We sincerely appreciate your kind and detailed review of your recent stay. Your comments regarding the many ways to get around the strip from our property will be very useful to other travelers. We are concerned, though, that you were not advised of our daily resort fee by your third party booking agency. All agencies are informed of our resort fee and should be disclosing information on reservation confirmations. We recommend reaching out your booking agency's customer service department to share your concern with them as well. We apologize that this lead to your billing issues and we would be happy to discuss this matter with you further. Please feel free to contact our Guest Relations team anytime. We value your loyalty and thank you for your feedback!

Tosha Tanner

Great selection of food places and shopping very well maintained. I would recommend staying at the Mandalay Bay. Make sure you check your bill before leaving found several charges that did not apply to me.

The stay was comfortable. The tv was not functioning properly, and required manual operation. Beds were slightly uncomfortable. Rooms were cleaned quickly in the morning. It was affordable for a weekend in the off season.
