When I visit a property for the pool, I expect that the basics will be covered so that my family and I can enjoy the amenities offered. To provide a lazy river without providing inner tubes is like offering a buffet without silverware. Sure, you can eat the food with your hands -- or in this case float along on your back or doggy paddle -- but who wants to do that? I have had the opportunity to visit a number of very high end hotels with water features that match or exceed the quality of those at Mandalay Beach. And NONE of them charged $22 for an inner tube you could buy for 4 bucks at the local drugstore. The gal at the counter said it was due to liability issues - so they ask the guest to bring their own blow ups. Really? Now that seems like a huge liability to me. And frankly, who wants to pack the inner tube? When there are so many other ways that casino hotel resorts take the guests cash, it seems like they could be a little bit more generous when it comes to something that's near and dear to many travelers hearts -- their kids.
