let me start w/the good:
ria at front desk was fantastic
gabriella at the info. desk was fantastic
the barrista at fortunata (i don't remember his name) was fantastic
the gym that comes w/the fee resort, on lobby level, is very good - perfect for a travel workout
the view elevator is very cool
good deals in their coupon books
katie, the cmt in the lvh spa, gave the best massage EVER
and rosalinda (sp?) the helper in the spa is extraordinary
the spa overall services are very good and the spa gym nice
if you plan to go the resorts that actual stops on the monorail - then the lvh is convenient to the monorail - again if and only if you are going to the main 7 stations - not the "nearby" stations
the maid service is excellent
the shampoo, conditioner, body lotion and soap in the bathroom are nice
plenty of towels
good sized hotel rooms and closet
lots of mirrors
good tv's and lots of channels
comfortable beds and pillows and sheets and comforter
service folks inside of the lvh are really customer focused, which i appreciate
room service good and inexpensive
the walls are paper thin; it was HORRIFYING. i literally heard conversations (word for word), laughing, screaming, farting. i've never stayed in a place w/walls that thin EVER.
benihana - worst food EVER. and note - i *love* the benihana chain. the one in the lvh, however, was hideous. they were using stinky oil and everything tasted like the stinky oil --- and even though they knew i didn't eat ANY of my dinner - they weren't willing to compensate in anyway shape or form to try to make good on a very bad meal.
tatuado food is awful.
the bars are empty - so you really have no reason to hang at the lvh
the lvh is profoundly inconvenient to the strip.
the monorail stops are so limited --- and you have to walk thru the butt of the hotels, through the smoke, for miles just to get somewhere - unless again - you are specifically and only going to the hotels at the actual monorail stop
i've never seen such a low class of clientele at any hotel i have traveled; the customers that are going to lvh are clearly bargain hunters who are only out for a good deal and not wanting any type of convenience, luxury or class. seriously - the patrons of the lvh are 100% class-less. i've never seen anything like it or that much polyester, cut off short daisy duke shorts with cellulite thighs in my entire life
the bathroom sink water smells like sewage
the shower stream is a trickle because the mechanism doesn't work --- you have to life the switch thing on the shower spout - but it doesn't lift all the way so the water only comes out half mass - and makes taking a shower a longer-than-need-to-be kind of thing
they need to have bath size bath towels - the towels are teeny weeny
they do need to redo the spa --- the walls, the wallpaper, there is exposed hardware from pictures no longer hanging, etc. i had a great experience at the spa - but it's a bit dated
the only reason to stay at the lvh is if you are going to something at the convention center, want to spend no money, expect no luxury whatsoever, if you bring noise cancelling devices to help with sleep and if you have no desire to go to the strip. only in those instances would the lvh make any sense.
non-smoking - high floor is the way to go. i didn't smell any smoke the entire time i was on the...
