“Unit 926- Be careful of expectations”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2011

I have stayed at jockey club before so I knew about the wonderful location and the construction. Also, we have been traveling around the world for over 20 years and I have NEVER written a bad review before. As long as I get what I am expecting, I am fine, we have stayed on some places that were probably 1-2 stars at best. but wanted the location I rented this unit privately and it was not what we expected. When we 1st walked into the room i noticed something on the floor under the dining room table, it was a dirty pillowcase. I went to put the dirty pillowcase in the front closet where I had noticed a large laundry bag. Upon closer inspection, it was a bag of laundered towels, and the top 1/3 were still wet from the laundry and where going to sit there for a week and mildew for the next tenant. The flyer for the unit said washer/dryer, so we packed for 3 days. There was no washer/dryer IN the unit, it is in the building. The flyer also said tv, notice I said tv, not tv's. In a 2 bdr (self described luxury unit) unit there was 1 20-inch TV in the living room. It has been a very long time since we have been anywhere that didn't have tv in master suite. The unit was DIRTY. I picked up dish towel hanging on stove to dry my hands and on the backside was old food stuck to towel. All of the floors were dirty with actual pieces of trash in some corners. The master bath tub had the broken handle laying in the bottom of the dirty tub and the toilet was really bad! I used the 2nd bath and left this one to the hubby. One panel of the wall mirror in the dining room was so dirty with hand prints that I couldn't guess the last time it had been cleaned. The extra blanket in the 2nd bdr was laying on the floor of the closet in a heap.

The kitchen was very poorly equipped. There is 1 supposedly sharp knife that wouldn't peel a cucumber or slice a tomato. We went to walmart and bought 2 knives so we could eat the steaks we were cooking for dinner. Very limited pans and bowls. The toaster was full of old crumbs and didn't work unless you held down the button the whole time.
Another issue was that our keys would not stay activated. Everyday, sometimes 2x a day, our keys would stop working and we would have to go to security to request replacements. The replacements were not made immediatley so if you were going in and out, security had to take you up and let you in while you were waiting for keys.

While I do love renting different places to stay the lesson learned here is to ask very specific questions and to not rent without reviews from other people.

Property was clean and personnel (with exception of the MiniMart cashier) were very friendly and helpful. Room 422 was immaculate. We were in tower closest to Strip. Seems the Cosmopolitan built right over TJC. Found location convenient to all establishments, Bellagio next door and new Aria a step away was good. Across the street is Paris. Very convenient. Location may be a challenge to find for some but if coming in from Flamingo, stay in the second right hand lane or will wind up at Bellagio. Valet parking was nice as no other place to park. Bellman helpful and efficient. 24-hour heated outdoor pool, indoor jacuzzi (no head space, room must only be six feet high) and the fitness center were very convenient and clean. Perfect location and best value for what you get. Loved the 2 room unit as well as full kitchen. Two computers for guest use. Wireless in room as well.

My husband and I had seven nights staying at the Jockey Club and would definitely stay here again. It could not have been any more central to everything we required than where it was. In the middle of many hotels/casinos and straight across the road from the Miracle Mile shops. I could lie in bed and look at ' the Eiffel Tower '. The great benefit of this complex is is that there is no Casino on site which gave us a peaceful environment to relax in. ( no cigarette smoke to be found ). Can't believe they still allow smokers to light up inside buildings!
We booked a one bedroom unit and it was spacious & clean. Woke up the 1st morning there and because of the blackout drapes did not realise what the time was. This was wonderful. Heaven for us. We own our own accommodation business so we were looking forward to having many long sleep ins. No noise what so ever. Construction had finished on the Cosmopolitan Hotel next door and they opened about 2 hours after we left Vegas.
Shower - very good water pressure and always hot. I don't have a bad thing to say about this place. Staff were excellent and friendly.
Overall our trip to Vegas can be described as an Experience - one we enjoyed immensley and having a great home base only added to this experience.

We stayed here for a few nights before moving on to Caesars Palace. The Jockey Club is full of nice touches and has an excellent location, center Strip. Traffic is heavier than usual since the opening of the Cosmopolitan Hotel, but you can walk everywhere from the Jockey Club so it is certainly not a deal-breaker. It is right next to the Bellagio Hotel and across the street from the Paris and Planet Hollywood, so the location is excellent.

Rooms are extremely spacious and clean with kitchens and appliances. Beds are also very comfortable. They have somewhat outdated furnishings, so if you are looking for an upscale and classy hotel, then this is not the place for you.

My one complaint was that there wasn’t much security at the hotel and there are no bolt locks on the room doors. One night when we came back to our room there were “porn cards” slipped under our door, so obviously anyone can walk in whenever they want.

This hotel has a lot of nice touches such as free movie rentals and popcorn, friendly hotel staff, courtesy calls and movie nights.

For a great value and a no-frills, clean hotel, the Jockey Club is for you.

Stayed at the Jockey Club for our honeymoon after leaving the Flamingo. Had a wonderful time. The condo was spacious with a full kitchen. The staff was friendly and well informed. Very helpful. The location CAN'T be beat. A little annoying getting harrassed by the time share sales people constantly. Make sure you request a room on the Bellagio side or else you are just looking at a wall with the new City Center next door. Pool doesn't get much sun because of the high rises on either side of the building

Penthouse 1106 & 1108, owned by an doctor from CA, were advertised on the web as a private rental. There were videos of the two condos and everything looked in order for us to vacation with our 4 grown children. When we arrived, we were horrified at the condition of units. The couches were disgusting and every frame broken; the bed frames were all broken (one was held up by a paint can); the kitchen was absolutely gross & inadequately stocked with dishes (3 coffee cups between 2 condos); old peanuts, candy, etc. all over the floor and in the couches; no replacement trash bags or cleaning supplies; bathtubs had mold around every edge. The truth did not match the video we first viewed.

Wanted a condo so I could cook Christmas dinner for my AF son and his friends. The Jockey Club was such a good experience, I don't think I'll ever stay anywhere else in Vegas. The room was very clean, well-maintained; had a fully stocked kitchen; comfortable beds; friendly staff. The location - center of the strip - is great, even more so now that Cosmopolitan is open next door. My only (very minor) negatives are that it's a little inconvenient getting your luggage to the back tower, and a little better signage to valet entrance would be nice.
