Located across the street from Planet Hollywood, The Jockey club is wedged between the Cosmopolitan and The Bellagio, and directly behind the Cosmopolitan’s East Tower. Access is from an access road on the north side which also gives you access to the entrance to the parking deck below the Cosmopolitan. If walking there is a lighted pathway adjacent to the access road. The Jockey Club is a time share resort that offers 1-2 bedroom units. My wife and I have owned timeshares here for about 25 years and have watched many casinos built and others go away. The condo’s of the Jockey Club have all been refurbished recently and are very nice. The Hospitality Suite offers 1000 DVD’s, books and games. The DVD’s are cataloged and offer a wide variety of movies to check out for free. There is also a mini-mart on the first floor which offers a pretty good variety of food and drink items. There is a pool between the two buildings with comfortable sitting areas. By the pool is an enclosed exercise room which offers fairly new exercise machines as well as a hot tub. Around the perimeter of the pool deck are several gas grills for your use. On the same floor as the pool there is direct access to the Cosmopolitan casino and parking deck assigned to the Jockey Club via a designated elevator. But there is a major problem with the Jockey Club. When the Cosmopolitan was built the towers and casino in the front and south sides totally block out the sun. Every condo on the south side has a view of the outside gray wall of the towers or casino. With the windows open in your unit it always looks like a cloudy day inside the condos. The sun is also blocked from the pool and deck area. On the west side the Cosmopolitan heating and air conditioning fans are at a constant roar which is fairly loud throughout the pool area. Because the wind is also mostly blocked there is a constant smell of cigarette smoke in the pool and deck area from various sources. This smell was also prevalent in our condo which is located adjacent to and above the pool area. If you are fortunate enough you might get a condo on the north side in the Ascot Tower above the 4th floor. Here you probably have one of the best views in Las Vegas from your window as you can watch the fountains of the Bellagio Hotel Casino which is located next door to the Jockey Club. If you are in the Derby Tower you will not be able to see the fountains but can see things other than a wall from your window. If there are available condo’s in the Ascot Tower on the North side they will assign these on a first come first serve basis if you ask.
