We have just returned from our almost annual Mother daughter Vegas adventure. I received a comped room for five nights. When we got to the check in desk there were only three people ahead of us ( Sunday afternoon at 2:30). We were offered and accepted the $25.00/night upgrade to a Go room. I am glad we did, the room was great and the coffee and fridge alone saved us at least $10.00 to $15.00 per day. There were a few small issues, like no regular coffee, our safe didn't work, and a lot of dust, but a quick phone call or a note solved these problems, very quickly and in a very firendly manner. My neat freak Mom did not think the room was clean enough, but I thought it to be fine. I did not like the fact that the outside windows were so dirty, though our view was great!

We had almost every breakfast at Ellis Island, great value. We walked back and forth to the Orleans three days in a row, we both won a Royal Flush at the Orleans, hence the reason for the return trips!

We saw the show Human Nature, bough the tickets ahead on Goldstar, LOVED the show, great time had by all and for all ages.

Drink service was very prompt at the Flamingo, we were playing nickel Video poker close to the door on the Bill's side and the waitresses came around very frequently.

We went to the pool a couple of times, the main pool is now closed, the adult one is open but there were lots of loungers around the main pool. You have to go early to get any sun, due to the tall bulidings and the angle of the sun at this time of year.

My Mom treated us to a couples massage in the Spa. Great time, if you can request Jeff, you should, one of the best massages I have ever had. Very good service in the spa, the facility is older of coourse, but very clean and very relaxing.

Overall we had a great time, the service was great, and I am glad we upgraded to the Go room. To be fair, I didn't see one of the regular rooms to compare, but as I mentioned the coffee pot and the fridge make it worthwhile.

Back to reality and to start planning our next adventure.

Originally booked a regular room but paid for an upgrade. Pleased we did as we overlooked the Strip. Although the room was spacious, the cleaning was not always as desired and we had to request the coffee, etc on 2 occasions, but overall were very satisfied with the room and location.

All I have to say about this hotel is that it is a total dive. I have stayed at many hotels on the strip and this is one of the worst. Where do I start? At check in they try to get you to upgrade to one of their newly renovated "Go" rooms. What they don't tell you is that these are the only clean rooms in the hotel. There was mold growing in the shower. The carpets were absoulutely filthy, many black stains through out. Lamp shades were cracked and falling apart. Found long black hair in the bed, no black hair in my party! The service was horrible at this hotel. Most of the people working here couldn't care about making the guests feel comfortable. Asked for a "Do Not Disturb" sign and was told by house keeping that management would not get them new ones. We had to put a hand written "Do Not Disturb" note on the door and house keeping still walked in without knocking. We were told by one employee that they weren't sure how much longer the Flamingo would be open. This may be the reason!!!

If you don't like pink and you like to have a toilet that flushes, don't stay here! If you want to stay in their technology GO room and want to expect free internet and a variety of tv channels because you're thinking you're staying in the technology GO room, don't stay here! If you want to pay for EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE amenities then this is the place for you!! Orange may not be the new pink, but it is definitely better than a 1970's updo. The beauty queen drop out got hired to work here for sure...oh, and orange is part of the detailing in the hot pink bathroom. Cheers!

Stayed there for 4 days. It was my first Las Vegas trip. Everything, really everything was ok. Can`t wait to come back next year. My favourite location there was the bar directly at the strip. Good beer and the best of people-viewing.
