“Good Hotel Location but Dated Hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

The Flamingo Hotel is one of the most famous in Las Vegas. Its location is excellent, well situated with access to many of the fabulous attraction. The staff is friendly and helpful. Once when my key did not work, a workman came to my rescue within minutes.
We were assigned an updated room. Apparently the flooring and bedding was new and possibly the rugs. But it seemed that the old furniture was reused as it was scuffed. The bathroom was not renovated. The room was large though.
Our room was accessible by the back elevators. When we exited onto our floor there was an sour odor that did not go away during the week we stayed at the Flamingo. In addition our room had a slight sewage smell, even thought the bathrooms were clean.
The pool was not open due to the fact that it was winter. The little park with Flamingos was pretty and added a lot to the exterior of the hotel.

Room Tip: Our room was on the back of the hotel and was quiet.

Green Features: The staff encouraged the visitors to re-use towels. Sheets were not changed every day.

We arrived late in the evening and expected an easy check-in. Wrong! Had to wait in-line along with approx. 100 other customers for 1 hour and 45 minutes. Only three clerks were on duty and they seemed really slow.Unbelievable, although they did comp our room $30 for the inconvenience. Plus, when we needed to check-out there was another long line. I think they have a big problem here. And if I go back, I would try to avoid this somehow. The buffet breakfast was good and the room was clean except a little outdated. We love the Flamingo but its showing some signs of age and wear. Oh and how about the Donny & Marie show we had planned to see. They cancelled 45 minutes before showtime. What's that all about?

Room Tip: Check out the room proximity to elevators. We had over a two minute walk to the nearest elevator ban...

Green Features: I am not aware of the hotel practices regarding recycling except that they say that they recycle the bathroom soap.

Our reservations was for a smoking room and confirmed. When we checked in we had to take a non smoking room. There were no apologies for the mistake from the desk clerk. If we wanted a room we had no choice but the non smoking room. First hotel we have ever stayed where we had to pay for wireless internet service and was surprised there were no coffee pots in any of the rooms.

Dirty, ejaculate covered rooms, where the staff doesn't care about your experience. Asked for a room with a view (strip side), and instead got a room with a Great Wall view. Leaky tub, cracked sink, electrical outlet cover broken exposing wiring...basically a broke a.. Chrlie Sheen has been here motel room quality experience! Bellagio, Wynn, Mirage, Cosmo...anywhere but this s..thole next time.

Room Tip: Ask for cum free chaise lounge. Don't expect an upgrade if you report it either.

Good luck getting drink service and overall friendliness from dealers. The rooms are nice in the spa elevator area. Buffet is brutal. Atmosphere on casino floor sucks the life out of you. Literally any other casino on the strip is more pleasurable. Also awesome that platinum members have to pay resort fee even if the pool isn't open. Sure they allow you a pass to other pools, but who wants to walk for that?
