“Good Diner Buffet & For Shows”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2014

My wife & I stayed at Harrah's but had a chance to go to this hotel for several things. (1) Went to their buffet for diner on a half price coupon when you paid full price for the first meal. Turns out it was for only ten dollars off but didn't complain as we still saved ten dollars. Buffet meal was fine and wait staff kept the refills coming without asking us. Were not felt to rush out the door as we leisurely eat our supper. (2) Went to their room with various sports going on numerous screens. Even had 2 games being played back home in Canada. No pressure put on us to buy any drinks as we sat in the oversized comfortable chairs here. (3) The showroom were we went to see the Donny & Marie Show is apparently one of the last original showrooms left from the 1970's in this town. This appears to be one of the main reason these two like to do their shows there. Good sight lines and one can hear what is being said/sung on stage. (4) My good wife liked to play the slots here as her players cards from another major hotel was good to use here. She also liked the variety of new slot machines that were available to use. She had a good time here!

Based on these four above stated opinions thus the reason for this positive review.

Flamingo Hotel is in a great location on the Laa Vegas Strip!
The pools are great area for beers & music in the day with the little flamingo & animal garden.
Casino is a decent size and margaritaville has some great entertainment on!
Would stay again

I'm checking out of the Flamingo today and this has been my first trip to Las Vegas. While the location of the Flamingo is awesome (right on the strip, direct entrance to Monorail, walking distance to major resorts), I was dismayed by the lack of basic amenities for the price we paid. Wifi is included as a "reimbursement" of the 13.99 fee for 24 hour use on 1 device. We'll see how that works when we get our bill. There is no coffee/tea or complimentary water available in the room and while the beds are very comfy, the room itself is kind of shabby and the bathroom is teeny. We decided to get a room with a strip view, which is actually pretty neat, but our windows have patchy screens across them (there's an ad for the Osmonds across the face of the hotel and the screens are part of that)- it dulls the effect of the strip. Breakfast is not included, though that seems pretty standard here, and the in-room service is extremely limited.

Overall, I expected better quality for the price. I will not be staying at the Flamingo again.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Flamingo. We used their price guarantee to get the room and when we got there they offered to upgrade us to a mini suite at no additional cost. The suite was spacious and clean but had not been recently remodeled. However we had a great view of the gardens and the extra room was appreciated. Check in was a breeze with the total rewards card - we were able to skip the long check in lines so be sure to get your card before you check in. The hotel is not up to the caliber of the Bellagio or TI but is clean, comfortable and the staff could not have been more helpful. We stayed on the 24th floor but had no problems getting an elevator with minimal wait time. I had wanted a coffee maker in the room but that was going to be an extra $20/night. The check in person suggested that we go to Walgreens and buy one for $10 to save the extra cost. We did and it worked out fine. It is well located on the strip with most locations within easy walking distances. The slots paid off reasonably well and were updated with the newest slots machines. The buffet was excellent. I thought Johnny Rockets was overpriced for what you got but that is Vegas.

The Flamingo has a great location, great pool, and exciting atmosphere. The property is conveniently located in the heart of the Las Vegas strip. The pool is the best in Vegas and a great place to relax in the afternoon - a must see! The hotel offers a great atmosphere, excellent service, and modern, comfortable rooms.

Room Tip: Quiet and comfortable - perfect for a good night's sleep after a wild evening.

We recently stayed at the Flamingo for a work conference. After reading the reviews on here, I wasn't trilled about the hotel choice but hopeful that it would be better in person. I was disappointed to find out that the reviews are pretty dead on. The floors throughout the hallways are stained and wrinkled (the carpet is actually coming up from the floor) so we did not have a very good first impression. The elevators are also falling apart. They did not look good from the inside and one of the buttons on our floor was missing so you couldn't even press it. The check in line wasn't extremely long and moved fairly quickly given the few staff memebers they had working. The room was recently remodeled so it looked nice upon first glance. However, our fire alarm was hanging out from the ceiling with the wires exposed. Our bathroom ceiling had a hinged door above the shower that was rusted and looked like it could fall off at any moment. The vent in the bathroom had clearly not been cleaned for awhile because it had dust built up all around it. The wallpaper was coming up in some spots. There was a door that connected our room to our neighbors room and we could hear EVERYTHING through the door and walls. We ended up sticking towels under the door to block out some of the sound. Our room was located directly next to The Linq so our view was pretty crappy because all we could really see were roof tops and the sides of other hotels. The other downside to being next to The Linq is they play music ALL day/night at a fairly loud volume. Between the music and listening to our neighbors, it was hard to get any sleep. We also had to pay resort fees but I'm not really sure what for because if you want anything extra, you have to pay. The hotel is centrally located and it was easy to get most everywhere by walking. If we go back to Vegas though I would not stay here again. I would recommend spending a little extra money on a nicer hotel.

Room Tip: Avoid a room next to The Linq or next to the elevator. We heard other guests complain about their ro...

So are you looking to vacation in Vegas and spend your trip in your room? If yes, then do not come here, but that isn't what you came to Vegas for, now is it?!?!?!?!? What do you expect when hunting for a budget hotel?!? This place was clean, but yes, dated. Service can be a bit slow, but consider they have over 3500 rooms. We were near the top of the building, and had a strip view. It was impressive. Bathrooms were tidy, linen changed and beds made daily. I cannot complain as this was a place to come to shower and sleep. Beds were comfy but after walking for hours and hours all day, you'll sleep well too. The best feature of the hotel is the pool out back. To my knowledge it is the largest of all the hotels on the strip. It is well set up, and if you like pools this is the hotel for you. There are cabins, etc that you can rent, but unless you're spending a day at the pool, save your money. They sell drinks for $$$$ there too. Best advice is to head North to Denny's for breakfast (same side of the strip), cheapest place around. Also be sure to check out Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville downstairs. The best thing about this hotel is it is centrally located. If you want to explore the strip its a perfectly situated hotel. Head North one day, explore everything on that side of the street. Next day head North on the other side of the street. Then two more days to do the same thing heading south. It is unbelievable all the stuff there is to see.

Room Tip: Strip view, for a few extra bucks, is nice if you are high up. many elevators make staying on upper...
