“Good Location and Expectations Met”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013

The Flamingo is what it is. Mid-Strip, not fancy, but not a dump. Fab Deluxe room was in good shape. No complaints on room. Carpets in hotel hallway were in decent shape (20th floor), and on two days of the 5 day stay, the carpet was being actively cleaned. Food carts were taken care of quickly.

Only hangup was the Bell Hop. The attendant didn't write down the number in house on my ticket to dial for the Bell Hop. So I used my cell to call...the guy answered the phone and said to redail 403 and promptly hung up. Didn't seem to make sense since I had him on the line already. Looks like they use the incoming call to identify the room number or something. Service otherwise was very good during my stay.

Pools were lively, and gaming was fair. Noise was heard a time or two from the pool/Carlos N Charlie, but not to the point it kept me awake.

I thought that I was getting a fairly good room price $50/night but then the hotel added "resort fees" of $20/night when you used their facilities or not. Also, the Flamingo did not offer or have microwave, refrigerator, or coffee/tea machine. I take this to mean that they want you to go down stairs and purchase you coffee/tea from their cafe/buffet. Please spend enough money in their casinos and it would be nice to have tea/coffee in your non-smoking room prior to going downstairs into the smoked-filled facility.

Also, we had no prior knowledge that the entire "food court" would be shut down for remodeling. This was a big inconvenience.

The pool was nice but they didn't let you bring any food in with you unless you had a "health condition". This is ridiculous!

My first time at the Flamingo with mixed reviews. I loved the pool, Margaritaville, updated room was fine, fast room service, and great location on the strip. What I didn't care for was- the slowest check in line ever, we stood in line for close to 45 minutes. I also didn't care for the shuttle stop, which was two blocks down the road, and there was barely any shade in 110 degree heat. I'm still not sure why they couldn't come where the taxis pick up/drop off?!?! Overall it was nice, but would probably pick a different hotel next trip!

We stayed in a 'Go Room' and although they are a vast improvement from the last time we visited (prior to renovations) the place is still a dump. The rooms are what gives it two stars, as once in them, you won't feel as disappointed. The hallways are disgusting, still dated looking, although the lady at front desk who we waited to see for 1.5 hours in line said that wifi and calls were included, they were not. The pool area was dirty and full of wasted newly 21'ers. Drinks expensive, front desk unhelpful....
Sad to say because I never like to see a Vegas iconic casino disappear.... But Bulldoze it.

We arrived at around 2pm, and had to queue for an hour to check in, which was tiresome, and the receptionist was not the friendliest.
The room we had was OK, though a little tired-looking - plus the ceiling leaked a bit. It was on the 5th floor, opposite the construction site next door, which was very noisy at 8am - not a good thing in Las Vegas, as you can imagine.
Check out was similarly lengthy, so we did the express (self) check out, which was much quicker.
Having only paid $60 it was not too galling, especially as the location in the middle of the strip was so good.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the east side to avoid the construction noise.

I stayed at the Flamingo for 2 nights while in town for work. As others have indicated, the Rewards line was very short and the check in attendant was very pleasant. Since I travel a lot for work, I have Silver status and was able to get free breakfast. The breakfast buffet was AWESOME and lasted quite late (11:30a, I think).

The room was very nice, although there was pounding on the ceiling from the renovations on the floor above starting at 7:30a. That's a bit early for Vegas. Just sayin'.

The pool was nice, but there was only one side was open the entire time. Perhaps they open the whole thing up during the weekend.

All of the staff were pleasant and I will certainly return again.

We recently stayed at the Flamingo (again), have been to this hotel off and on over 30 years.
Have also stayed at many other Strip hotels so we do have some experience with LV. I like the Flamingo because its very centrally located in the middle of the strip across from Cesears. The Flamingo is a very large hotel and can be confusing for first times visitors but once you get familiar with the layout you become comfortable. Because its a large hotel you can expect line ups at check in and check out during busy periods. Pool area is very nice and was also very busy, I had to search around for lounge chair June 4/12 but it did not take much time until I was nicely resting by the pool. The hotel is like a resort where you could stay around the Flamingo for the whole time your in Vegas if you choose. We used valet parking which was awesome as well as the self park. I love driving around Vegas and the surrounding area for sightseeing. We are getting old for walking and walking in the heat, having a mini van was excellent for 6 of us.
I booked on the hotel web site and found it easy and the room rate was competitive with other sites for the same dates. Will probably choose the Flamingo next time too because it feels like home now and not wasting any time getting acquainted with the hotel layout saves precious time in LV.

Room Tip: Deluxe fab facing the strip
