“Love the new Fab Deluxe rooms!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2012

The Flamingo is in a great location, themproperty has lots of nice ammennities. I stayed in the new Fab Deluxe rooms in January. I love the faux wood floors -- no more wondering what's living in the carpeting. The floor to ceiling windows are cool and the furniture is fun. The new beds are very comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised!

Good room at a good price. Seems to be standard.
Didn't like the porn shop in the lobby that kids were walking by, tho.
Close to all the strip stuff, decent gambling.

Stayed in Jan 2012 for business/pleasure. Needed a two-room suite; couldn't afford the newer hotels. Was there for large trade show, so all rooms were higher & already booked. After some confusion about res. made over the internet, they upgraded us to what we wanted (a Go Suite) & negotiated the increased amount. Was still way cheaper than newer hotels. The room itself was perfect. Very large rooms, 1-1/2 baths; baths totally clean; 3 tvs; fridge -all done in funky stripes; bed very comfy; had to pay for internet. Still no denying it's an older hotel. Hallways bordering on shabby. Still like the fact you can get from your room to the street without getting lost & in minimum time. Not much to say for restaurants in hotel. No cheap food here, but that's to be said for all restaurants in Vegas. Check in was no problem - Graziella handled the update and was super gracious to us. Don't think I'd stay in the regular rooms....could be iffy. Liked nearness to other hotels - could easily walk to dinner at Caesers or Harrahs. One morning took my coffee outdoors to the flamingo area & sat in the sun; listened to the birds; watched the fish...nice little quiet diversion. Shuttles to trade show were very convenient & reliable.

Room Tip: Get a Go room - negotiate the price

My sister and I stayed at the Flamingo for a long weekend and had a great time. I upgraded from older room to a renovated room at the time of check-in. We were in room 15146 and had an amazing view of part of the strip and the mountains. Margaritaville is in the hotel and a fun place, of course. Didn't eat at the other restaurants in the hotel as we were on the go all the time. The pool wasn't open so I can't report anything on that, either. This location cannot be beat in this price range as it is in the center of the strip. We enjoyed the visit. Staff that we dealt with were very pleasant and helpful.

There are certainly better hotels in Vegas, but among those that retain the old school vibe of Sin City, The Flamingo is my preference.
It's in probably the best location on the strip to visit the other hotels and casinos. The property is a bit dated, but for those who can manage without the most modern amenities, this is one of the best values in Vegas.

This was our 5th trip to Vegas, our first stay at The Flamingo. We booked directly through the hotel & got a great rate. Check in was quick & easy. We stayed in one of the remodeled "Go" rooms, and while it was nice, you could tell it was an older room that had been redone. The room was very clean, as was the rest of the hotel. The bathroom was very nice (tv embedded in the mirror) with a nice big shower; however, there was no real door for the bathroom....just a sliding frosted glass door that when closed, left about a 3 inch gap around the edges, so there was no real privacy. We had a nice view of the pool area & wildlife habitat. Mattress was okay, not bad, not great. One nice bonus - there was a mini-fridge! Hadn't seen one of those in any other hotel. We never had to wait for an elevator...they were very fast. Has a nice little food court & various little coffee shops scattered around. Location is PERFECT, we were right in the middle of everything, rarely had to take the bus. Close to McD's...which was nice for breakfast. There was no resort fee. Overall, it was a nice stay & we would definitely stay there again.
