This place is fine if all you want is a place to sleep and you don't care that everything (even your non-smoking room) smells like cigarettes and air freshener. We went for a bachelorette party so we didn't think we'd be spending much time in the room. It has a good location, so if you want to go on the cheap this is still an option. They REALLY need to get rid of the stink though. bleh.

GOOD:
-location was fantastic
-bed was comfortable
-room was dark
-room is large

BAD:
-no good food nearby
-smells (as mentioned)
-blow dryer didn't work (but they did fix it... an HOUR later while we waited with wet hair)
-no blanket on the bed (wtf?)
-crappy shampoo/conditioner

Room Tip: Higher floors give better views.... obviously.

I stayed at the Flamingo four nights from Sunday, November 13 to Thursday the 17th checkout. IMO, the hotel was average and I had a good time there. I asked for and received a room that was quiet. It was clean with good housekeeping daily, though the room could use some TLC.

The wildlife habitat area was relaxing, and the hotel location was excellent for my agenda. Mostly played the slots there and in other strip casinos. Upon checkout, I went Downtown for four nights at Fitzgerald's Hotel/casino.

The Flamingo Hotel is right in the middle of the strip. It is located next to numerous small restaurants and bars but is also within walking distance of the big hotels and casinos on the strip. The staff is pleasant and courteous: the room was very clean but I personally could have done without the glass enclosure around the bathroom... I like my privacy!!!!!
The casino covers a big area and the service is excellent. There was a pleasant surprise in the outdoor garden area which gives you a little break from the Vegas hustle. Al in all a very pleasant stay.

Room Tip: Splurge a bit and get a GO room: somewhat bigger and more modern.

Have stayed at several hotels on the strip in Vegas but like other reviewers I always come back to the Flamingo. You CANNOT beat the location for the money. Other hotels in the same area are either more expensive or smaller rooms. The basic rooms here can be anything from not great (cleanliness and dated) to ok as you're basically just sleeping there - this is Vegas and you want to be out in the action. You take your chances with the basic room so we always get the Go Deluxe room for a few dollars more and have never been dissappointed. Any other hotel room near this location with a similar room to the Go Room at the Flamingo would cost more so it's the Flamingo for us. Pools are great in the summer but weekends can be crazy so if you want a more peaceful setting you can also use the pool at Caesars (also beautiful). No charge weekdays but a small charge for men only on the weekends. Again - location is the key and all things considered - the Flamingo is the better value. Headin' there at Christmas!

Room Tip: Go Rooms the best.

We stayed in a "GO" room which is in the refurbished part of the hotel. Our room was wonderful with a fabulous, new, comfortable bed, flat screen TV in the bedroom AND the bathroom, fabulous and modern bathroom with a huge glassed in shower, beautiful view of the pool...I could go on and on. And all for a total of $89. per night. Seriously, DO book a "GO" room here. You won't be disappointed.
Aside from the room, the hotel has everything anyone could possibly want - good restaurants, good service, beautiful huge meandering pool and of course, a very large casino. All this PLUS it is in a fabulous location, right in the middle of everything! I highly recommend the Flamingo for a great Las Vegas vacation!

Room Tip: Book a GO room!!

The Flamingo has the best location on the Vegas strip, hands down. The casino is great, offering the classic, over-the-top feel that is classic vegas. I am not a fan of the more modern, dimly-lit casinos (and from the looks of the crowds at places like Aria, Cosmo, etc, most people feel the same).

We reserved a two-bed Deluxe room through the Flamingo's website and received an incredible deal for 4-nights. I had read the reviews on various websites, and knew that these were not the nicest rooms, but for the price, we figured it couldn't be too bad. We checked in at the hotel via the self check-in kiosks located near the main desk. We were able to pick the floor our room was located on, so we went with the highest floor for the best view. We headed toward our room, and upon entering encountered a broken light switch (for an overhead light that didn't work), two beds with no duvets (just a small, white comforter) and stains all over the carpet.

Needless to say, we immediately turned around and went back to the lobby to request a different room. Apparently this is common-place as the individual that assisted us did not seem surprised when we explained the situation. He provided us with another room on the 15th floor, closer to the elevators and with a great view of Las Vegas Blvd. and Caesar's Palace. This room was similar, but clean, had more appointments (such as duvet covers on the beds), etc. I wouldn't say the room was "nice", but it was adequate. One strange thing was that none of the deluxe rooms had an alarm clock.

Overall, I left with a positive view of the Flamingo from the service to the location, casino, etc. I cannot recommend this hotel unless you book a "Go Room", and for the additional cost, we should have done this ourselves (unfortunately they were out of Go Rooms once we arrived or we would have forked over the additional $30 per night).

Room Tip: 15134 was a decent "deluxe" room- anything above Floor # "140" is a really long...
