“No Complaints”

I stayed at the Hard Rock from Dec 30 till Jan 2. We were a group of 8, 2 couples in each room. I read that many people had problems with check in and I must say we had the complete opposite. Check in was quick and we requested 2 adjoining rooms and that is exactly what we got. The rooms were nice, the beds were sooo comfortable and the bathrooms were big. Also staying right across the hall was Tommy Lee which was awesome! The casino and hotel were smaller then the others but very laid back and fun. I didn't really like the club they have there, Body English but I'm not much of a club person anyways. Overall, I have no complaints of the entire trip. We saw lots of famous people around the casino and were treated very well by everyone including at the gambling tables and housekeeping who were always giving us extra towels. I would definitely stay here again!

“Big Disappointment!”

We stayed at the Hard Rock for New Year's Eve to see Supernova. We are seasoned travellers and have stayed at many hotels in Las Vegas. The rooms at the Hard Rock were just mediocre. They don't provide blankets, coffee makers, or even a vanity mirror. Our first night there, the shower drain was plugged so bad that it was flooding. When we tried to call customer service, the phone didn't work. We had to call the front desk using our cell phone. They did send someone to fix the shower that evening. The beds were lumpy and the bathrooms were so small that you have to be careful to avoid rubbing up against the toilet while closing the bathroom door! Oh and get this...There is an extra $20 charge per person to use the gym each time.

The casino was a happening place during the evenings. They need to update their ventilation system to handle the cigarette smoke and upgrade their sound system which sounds sub-standard.

If you plan on staying at the Hard Rock plan on paying a lot for Taxi rides to the strip as it is too far to walk (approx. 1.5 miles) to the strip. Also note that the hotel's restaurants only give 2 for 1 discounts to guests of all Las Vegas hotel guests, EXCEPT for Hard Rock guests. Which doesn't make any sense, since one would think the hotel would give special consideration to those people who are guests of the hotel and gambling in their casino.

There are lots of other hotels in Las Vegas that treat their patrons better and have better amenities.

“hard rock is the best”

as the organizer of a trip that usually consists of 15 to 20 males aging between 22 and 30, the hard rock is the place to stay. we said we would stay at a different place every year until we found a place we liked. if your looking for a party, and of course you are or you wouldnt be going to vegas, then this is the place to stay. the rooms are all you can ask for. clean, small little balcony, but big opening french doors is very nice. bose steros are a nice touch. the rooms also have safes which are free and work very well.

the casino is great. there is a party going on all the time. the dealers are very friendly and helpful. myself, always stopping to play cards on my way to the room every nite, usually not to sober whatsoever, the dealers would look after you. most places will take advantage of you, but the dealers there seemed to go that extra mile to make sure know matter how drunk you were, you werent missing anything.

the pool is amazing. i highly reccomend renting a cabana. there about 250 for the day, but have a flat screen tv, fridge, safe and lots of chairs and couches. you get amazing waitress service when you have one of these. (the grilled ham and cheese is so good when hungover drinking a corona sitting by the pool.} there is a water slide, a sandy beach, and more woman than you can shake a stick at.

body english is located at the hard rock. this is one of the best bars in vegas. (pure is still the best.) we had a vip room there, with 19 of us i bet we had another 50 people in there that we had brought in. definetly a good time.

the only downfall, was the front desk staff. not very smart. are rooms were all prepaid, but they kept trying to charge us again. they just couldnt understand what was going on or problem solve this. luckily my travel agent fixed all this when we got home.

all in all, if your in your 20 s, 30 s, or still like to give er in your 40 s... then stay here. if you dont drink, party, like rock music, like it loud.. then dont stay here. i will stay here every year from here on end. lots of single guys/girls.. whatever your into. i stongly reccomend this place and i will be back next year for sure......good times

“Not My Kind of Place...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2006

Stayed here one night during a business trip. I'm a mid-40's guy and discovered pretty quickly that this was not the place for me.

First, I felt as if I was old enough to be everyone's father. The guests, staff and club visitors here are mostly 20-somethings. Much of the crowd were party-hardy types and seemed to compete for who could yell the loudest at the bars and around the small casino. To give them some credit, you practically HAD to yell to be heard over the loud rock music that seems to be seeping out of every corner of this place. I liked a lot of the tunes, but gee, could you turn the volume down just a little bit?!

The minimalist-styled rooms were fine with huge plasma TVs and a decent work area. Believe it or not, some of us actually do come to Las Vegas for business! Internet access was expensive at $12/day.

Be aware that sound really travels in this hotel -- through the walls, ceilings and under the doors. Didn't get much sleep and glad I had no meetings the next morning. People were running up and down the hallways yelling all night. I had to put towels against the substantial opening at the bottom of the door. That helped a little. Then at 2:00AM and again at 3:30AM young partiers were banging on doors. Was exhausted the next morning.

Didn't experience any of the restaurants except the 24/7 coffee shop which was OK. Waitresses were attentive, food came quickly and at least the music was a little less loud in there.

The hotel is in a poor location if you want to go for a walk to escape the noise. I've stayed at practically every major Strip hotel (been to Las Vegas for conventions nearly 100 times) and will go back to one of them next time.

  • Liked — Large-screen plasma TV in the room
  • Disliked — Loud music everywhere
  • Tips/Secrets — Get a room at the end of the hallway

“Good Place”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2006

There was a $5 fee added to the room charge, but that's not so uncommon these days. For the price, the room was nice. Did not like the mini-bar and 'you move it, you bought it' concept'. The room was clean and spacious. We did have the maid try to enter even with the do not disturb sign on, so do beware and lock the door from the inside. Casino is small and quaint, dealers friendly. The place was a very popular bar scene at night. The pool was impressive. Restaraunts were good.
