“Good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012

A 2 night stay at the end of September 2012. The price was very good, and the large room had very comfortable beds, and was clean and fresh.
The buffet breakfast and dinner were both excellent and very good value for money.
The pool area was very crowded.

The Room was neat, clean, and spacious. I loved the pool area and the slide through the aquarium with the sharks and other fish. Just watching them while swimming around was great. This hotel is a Convenient location for Fremont Experience with great free shows at night and lots of choices to gamble and enjoy the sights and people watch.

Stayed February 2012 on an AARP discount in the Rush Tower . Great room; less than $100 on a mid-week. The whole property if the class of downtown. Great activity under the canopy downtown-----------people-watching is the best! Try an appetizer under the huge acquarium behind the hotel registration desk; nice beginning to your evening.

Room Tip: King suite in the tower

We recently stayed in the Rush Tower at the Golden Nuggert Hotel. The room was lovely with an amazingly large bathroom with upscale amenities. We received two free show tickets to Gordie Brown, which we found to be just OK. Would never have paid to see this show. The casino has quite a few new slots and we enjoyed the atmosphere.

We also received coupons for the buffet, two for one breakfast or lunch. We were disappointed this time. The selection was not great and the quality of the food has diminished since our last visit. I doubt if we would ever visit the buffet on future visits.

Downtown Vegas is not ideal for those who enjoy more of the traditional Vegas experience. Most of the hotels downtown seem quite run down and old.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but would likely stay on the strip next time.

Room Tip: All rooms in the Rush Tower are new and very modern.

I had a 4 night stay on the Gold Club ( upgraded rooms) floor in the Gold Tower. The room I was checked into turned out to be directly behind the elevators. I have never been in this situation before, but when I tried to go to sleep that night, the racket was awful! It's hard to believe there isn't sound-proofing used.I called the desk & was given a different room even though it was 3AM. The next evening, after a full day, I went to the (new) room and the housekeeping staff hadn't cleaned. Again, the desk got this on track, after checking the records (which said the room HAD been done).
I like the hotel, and would stay there again even with these issues because the staff gave the situations time & attention to correct the problems.
But I will never again accept the room behind the elevators!

Room Tip: avoid the "25" rooms in the Gold Tower, they are backed up to elevators so its noisy

2+ months in advance I just got in time to book the Spa Suite at the Golden Nugget. It was the second last room available. The room was $400AUS but well worth it if you want to live like a Royal for a night. It is fully loaded with every detail imaginable from hung art to light fittings to the gold temperature gage in the massive shower. Did i mention the mirrors on the ceiling!! Definitely a couples room but even a good place to party before hitting old Vegas with your mates. Despite 1 hour to leave the room, room service came in when we were still asleep which was annoying, if it was after the check out time would have been more appreciated. Otherwise the room has to be seen to be believed.

Room Tip: book early

Stayed at the Golden Nugget (Rush Tower) for the 2012 Bike Fest. The hotel staff was outstanding. The room was simply devine. Excellent decor, plenty of space, the bath area was very spacious. Arrived on thursday and departed on sunday. Restaurants were prepared to handle the large crowds. Travel Tip, using the local cabs can be expensive but the bus service offer day passes for a very low fee and the (very clean) bus drops you off in front of the hotel.

Room Tip: Take the upgrade and ask for a corner room. Corner room provides more privacy and an excellent view...
