“Best Value Period”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013 via mobile

"We found a rare gem in the city" best fits this hotel casino. It is right between the Palms and Rio within walking distance for your buffet or party needs, has clean rooms that look identical to Aria's on a smaller scale, has a cheap and clean buffet for a quick grub, has an updated casino look that looks quite nice, and last but not least, CHEAP ROOMS!!! It's basically like staying at the Aria for a quarter of the price. Let's just hope the rates don't go up once more people find out about this rare gem.

We stayed Tues - Saturday and had a king size bed. Check in and check out employees were very nice. Also the bell boys helped out for directions to the hoover dam, which is around 30 mins away. Casino is dated but that's ok, Rooms have been updated, pool was clean, kept up, plenty of chairs for the handful of sunbathers and towels are available for no charge. Buffet was just ok. If you have a Bconnected players card you save a couple of dollars off the listed price and also 10% off in the gift shop on souvenirs. We rented a car, more than enough parking in the parking garage and always got a spot near the casino entrance. I asked the front desk for an extra pillow and 2 were delivered to my room within 15 mins. The hotel is just around 1 mile from the strip, not walking distance, but a fast car ride or a $10 cab ride to New York New York. Rio and Palms are within walking distance. Shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, face bar soap, body bar soap and hair dryer are in the bathrooms.

Staying here for two nights was a pleasure and one we would repeat. Upon arrival we parked in the multi storey and there were plenty of spaces. Reception staff were very polite and noticed we were on our honeymoon so upgraded us to a suite on the top floor.
You have to walk into the slightly dated casino to get to the elevators for the rooms. Having being upgraded we expected a nice room and we were not disappointed. The room was massive, separate lounge/dining room with kitchenette but the air con was quite loud. The separate bedroom was huge with a large queen bed, large tv, big wardrobe and nice vanity mirror with sink. Then a large separate bathroom with shower. The carpet was nice underfoot and clean as was the room. The problem with the hotel is you have to pay for the wi fi and in this day and age should be free. Despite this, the hotel is conveniently located just of the strip and a free shuttle that runs every 20 minutes will take you there up until 1230 am. It drops you at Ballys casino right at the back entrance so you have to walk all the way throught th hotel to get to the strip. The shuttle however has limited seats so if there is a large que you have to wait for another one in 20 minutes so the hotel should provide a larger bus or more frequent ones. A cab into the strip cost us around $20 with tip.
We ate at the onsite TGIF for breakfast one morning and it was very good with good service. Oh and the pool is ample with free towels, ideal for the day heat in Vegas.

Room Tip: Go for the top floor suite they are massive, clean and the beds are comfy

My girlfriend and I just got back from a stay at the Gold Coast over the last week. I can say that we both enjoyed our stay very much, and appreciated the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the hotel. We ate at the buffet ($12.99 fathers day special with free beer is a great price!), Ping Pang Pong, and TGI Friday's. The only disappointing part of our experience was our experience at Ping Pang Pong, as we had both heard about how incredible it was. The food was mediocre, and the staff at the restaurant was atrocious. The pool was a little small and nothing extravagant as some of the nicer strip hotels are, but it was never too crowded. It could have been better with a bar close by. For the price of our stay (220-230 including resort fees for a 5 night stay) and knowing that the Rio next door charges almost double that for the same length stay, I was thoroughly satisfied with everything. Sure, the cigarette smoke is a little obnoxious, but ITS VEGAS. The smell is in every hotel, and if its something that makes or breaks your stay then don't go to the city.

Room Tip: Our room had a shower only, which we didn't mind. The shower having no door was kind of cool, bu...

I usually stay at the Rio, but a friend recommended the Gold Coast so I thought I would give it a try. Checking in was easy, though the staff at the desk was not very enthusiastic. The rooms are adequate, fairly nice size, and recently remodeled. The casino is old, with old games. There is a store on premise which has good prices on snacks and beer. If you are driving the resort fee ($3.00) is worth the price for the free valet parking. The air conditioning in the room was excellent and kept the room at a very nice temperature. There are several inexpensive eating options at the hotel including a TGIF. The B-Connected player's card was not very enticing. The staff at the B-Connected desk had no idea of what I was talking about with Take Heart Tuesdays. The free gifts after achieving daily play totals were entries to contests that you had to be there to win. Though I will say they have kiosks that make finding out what promos are on your card very easy. All in all for the price you pay it is adequate. I think I'll go back to the Rio for my next visit.

Nearly all the food was nasty at the buffet and the seafood tasted old, the pizza tasted like cardboard. The service was medicore. The casino looked outdated and dirty. Very unhappy with the hotel and dining.

Every time I am in Vegas I stay at the Gold Coast. It is my choice because of Value, Gaming, and Entertainment. I am a MLife Player and constantly receive good invitations thru my email. I was offered 2 comp nights this time and had a lot of fun.
