Judging by the demographic of the crowd in the airport-sized check in line up, I would say this hotel is discounted for a reason. I will say the circus acts them selves were very good family entertainment. The kids don't notice grubbiness or worn out carpets etc so they don't care. We were disappointed that part of the live performance circus area was closed for renovations. Although they've made attempts to renovate the rooms, next time we will spend $20 more and go further up the strip. Walking outside with children is not safe feeling in this part of Vegas. Lots of drunks, loiterers and trash on the street. The coffee shop offered us the most pitiful bagel breakfast sandwiches we've ever had.

We stayed at this hotel/casino for 6 nights 7 days. It was perfect for us because we brought our young children with us. with the FREE circus and games for the kids it really kept them occupied. All the staff was VERY friendly and helpful. the rooms was clean and neat. I LOVED the bathroom! HUGE shower!! I would recommend this hotel to anyone with children. If its an adult trip, i wouldn't suggest it. On the weekend the hotel was swarmed with people and children. It got a bit much for me. If i was there with my husband and no kids, i wouldn't want to be greeted by kids running all over. Besides that it was nice. the food was good, adventure dome was great and the pool was nice!! will stay here again when we bring the kids back!!!

Wil never ever consider staying here again!it may be a good value for budget minded families traveling with kids especially if u do not care about cleaniness, privacy and service.it is the last hotel from strip far from everything else. Dark, dingy and smells like a really really really old hotel.
there are better choices u can make with hotels to stay on the las vegas strip.

Stayed here for a few nights with my hubby and 3 year old daughter, it was an excellent choice as its very family friendly. Kids are allowed everywhere in the hotel and made to feel welcome unlike some other hotels on the strip. Our room was perfect, clean and spacious with 2 comfy clean beds. We asked for a non smoking room. Right outside our block was the hotel pools and the moving walkway to the adventure dome. Would have been nice nice to have a kettle in the room but it wasn't a huge problem as there is a 24 hour deli on site serving snacks and drinks. The location is perfect for families at the top end of the strip where it's a little quieter on a night, but only a short walk to the to and mirage where you can get the trams or monorail to the other end of the strip.
We will definitely be returning on our next trip to Vegas .

We stayed with family on our last Vegas trip. The room was booked as non-smoking but turned out someone had been smoking there... called front desk and they promptly changed both our rooms to a different floor. The kids enjoyed the adventure dome and the games there, but when we finally went down to check out the casinos at the night... it was a drag... really disappointing environment with very few tables open. Probably a function of the environment and for being at the far end of the strip. Next day was good, since we stepped out early to visit the major casinos on the strip. We will probably try staying someplace on the middle of the strip on our next trip.

Stayed on the 33rd floor west tower, great view, room was clean and well maintained. the tub stopped up, maintenance was called and responded within 15 minutes, and cleared the drain.
The location is great, because its on the North end of the Strip, you can walk in one direction down and back up ( if that makes sense to anyone but me). CVS is 100 yards out the front door to the north. McDonald's is 100 yards south out the front door to the south. there is a good buffet and Rock n rita's where you can get eats, right there at the hotel. Hotel staff were above average, all the way around, no complaints what so ever....ONLY thing its just like most Casino's but not where I was passing out. but ventilation could be improved.. their was a drunk couple in the hall, but before I could call security, they were was already on the way, arrived and took care of the situation... I would stay there again, who needs to spend 300 to 500 dollars a night room just to visit Vegas... Beware of the look folks offering you your free 100 dollars, time share pukes.

Circus Circus -- Ahh.. the very first "themed" Casino in Vegas. I went here first as a kid, in 1976. I came back when I was 21, and have subsequently brought my kids.

Where to start? Well Circus Circus is mostly about being relaxed and having fun, for maximum enjoyment for parents and kids. I would say the best age group for kids or families to come here would be when the kids are in the early teen years.

We went here for a friends wedding in October.. we stayed here first and then moved to the Mandalay after a brief trip out of the city.

First, I should start with the check-in experience, there was a bit of a line up - but the wait time wasn't too long -- perhaps five minutes or a little more. They lady who check us in was very courteous and took the time to explain all the amentities, and map out where we needed to go to find our rooms. Circus Circus, while not as big as some of the newer casinos and hotel, is still massive, and on several levels. I was pleased that she took all the time and did not feel rushed to explain things to us, for example what our charges would be, and where everything was and how to check out easily (express), and who to call if we needed anything. By far, this was the most pleasant check-in experience in a long time. Big Kudos to the Circus Circus hotel staff!

So up to the Casino Tower we went.. now not having been there in awhile.. the Casino tower is remodelled, but it still the original structure... I thought paying more for a room might mean it is classier and better... then the other choices at Circus Circus. But to be honest, it had a very historic, old vegas feel.. there was kind of a weird spicey aroma in the hallways but not in the rooms. It was clean, and well presented.. but you did get a sense of seventies vegas. The smell didn't bother me.. I enjoyed it actually.. I though maybe at any moment the ghost of Jay Sarno might come around a corner puffing a choice cuban cigar. It was in a good location, central to everything -- out of the Buffet and up the elevator you go!

Our room was good, nothing special, big enough - at a great price. The covers on one bed showed signs of wear and seemd a little stained, despite being clean, I thought maybe they could have changed that out by now. I didn't complain, but next time I will.. It was on par with your average Holiday Inn Express or Howard Johnsons.

Our room looked out over the roof of the casino and a had a small peek-a-boo view of the strip on the tenth floor.. which was cool at night -- pretty boring in the daytime next time I would book into the west tower.

The casino itself was laid back and casual, during the weekday we enjoyed the ambience, it wasnt cool though the next night when it got busy, and they jacked the min table bets...and stopped the drink services i couldnt find a cocktail server if I tried), we went across to the Riveria and it was alot better. I don't know what was going on there Thursdaynigh but..totally a different vibe then the night before.

The circus acts, are stellar, and still awe inspriing but a bit far apart (like 10-12 minutes) between the acts, so it is not the non-stop action that I remembered on previous visits. Also, the Circus could now longer be seen very well from the gaming floor. So you went up found a seat in the bleachers watch about a ten-fifteen minute show, and then waited for the next 10 minutes for the next one to start.

The midway and arcade was under renovations, things seemd like they were falling apart, the famous "merry-go-round" bar was closed down, and was under renovations... There were still some attractions open, the arcade was pretty much shutdown for re-tiling.. Im sure they will spruced back up, looks like alot of construction was underway.. lots of tarped gaming machines and inaccessible gaming areas.

The Adventure dome was fantastic, and alot of fun.. well worth a day pass.. it wasnt busy so it was ride after ride with no lineups. The coaster is as scary as they say it is!!! :) There arent a whole lot of rides (maybe 10-15) but they are good ones... and did I mention no lineups???? FUN FUN FUN!

The pool was okay, but a heck of a long way from the rooms in the Casino tower.. the pool was an afterthought, so it was built when a whole new "skyway" tower was constructed. If you want to spend lots of time in the pool, then stay in the Skyway Tower.. I didnt go to the to the other pools at the were closed.. I can say the pool is large and reasonable.. nothing spectacular but not terrible either..

Food choices, lets talk about the food.. the food here is mostly budget priced, and delicious.. there is a wide range of food available and you dont have to walk miles like other casinos to get it. The buffett is one of Vegas' largest and offers standard cuisine.. nothing to fancy, but lots of choices... it doesn't have a great seafood selection,.. but everything else is pretty good.. no real fancy deserts here... but again selection selection selection.. I don't know how many items they had.. but it seeemed well over a hundred, and most of it was pretty tastey....

The do offer finer dining at the Steakhouse, and also have a Krispy Kreme donut shop onsite. and a little bar and dance floor called Rock N Ritas that always seemed to be hopping.

The shopping here is budget minded, yes there are a few high-end shops, but it mostly caters to low end souvenir shopping.. great for families and a good place to get a Vegas trinket or too... even a t-shirt!! They had vendors with fake gucci bags, and samurai swords.. etc.. so if you want a little momento but dont want to pay an arm an a leg.. the place to get stuff like that is Circus Circus!

Overall - the Circus Circus was alot of fun, and pleasant.. I'm glad it is still part of the Vegas experience...

Room Tip: Stay in the West Tower...
