“State Fair Atmosphere”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2012 via mobile

I was very disappointed in Circus Circus- everything from the smell of smoke and vomit in the lobby to the outdated and dirty looking decor to the rowdy circus atmosphere of the crowds screamed cheap and tardy. I made the mistake of booking this hotel thinking it would be convenient for my kids to go to the Adventure Dome. However, I didn't expect the hotel would truly live up to it name- it is a circus. Unattended kids were playing in the elevators and shoving guests. The midway resembled a State Fair with its usual cast of characters, and just a general low class sensibility. Rockin Rita had a decorated toilet in front of its doors and a menu featuring food being served out of a toilet. If you want to take your kids to the Adventure Dome, spend the day but don't stay overnight- no matter how cheap. You get what you pay for.

We chose this hotel because we had our 9 year old grandson between Christmas and New Years. None of us could stand the crowd of strollers and large groups of idiots milling around. The lobby always looks like a greyhound bus station or homeless shelter. It often smells like feet, diapers, and vomit. No matter what time of day, it is packed with people, who look desolate, sitting around with their luggage, kids running around without supervision, and normal people trying to make their way through this maze. Even in the casino, there were women with their kids just sitting around, I assume waiting for their husbands. Trying to walk around the Adventuredome was horrible - too many people for this small area. One good thing about the hotel, the rooms are very large - at least in the West Tower. But, they don't even supply a coffee maker. Minimal TV channel selections. You are not within walking distance of anything else on the strip. The WIFI was intermittent - and our room was at the end of the hall. We visited other casinos and kept saying... wish we were here instead. I would definitely not recommend this hotel if you want an enjoyable time in Vegas.

Room Tip: If you have a room facing the adventuredome - expect a spotlight until 2am

The casino itself wasn't bad. It has potential yet it's so worn. It's almost depressing. Smelled like dirty pets [as opposed to clean pets ;-)]. It's far away from the Strip. The hotel wasn't particularly cheap either. Think you can afford a room at the Strip with the same price, if not less.

Good value for money.
No complaints about rooms whatsoever.
The duration of circus acts has reduced over the years. The area gets extremely crowded in the evening.
Availability of veg. food is an issue. Doughnuts and bagels etc. is only viable breakfast option for the vegeterians.
Though resort fee is for every day, the passport (cupons) are per room per stay. Did not get to use either the pool or the gym. Would have preferred more cupons for the arcade games.

We recently stayed at Circus Circus, and it definetely was a disappointment. The location is awful. It is very far from the strip. The staff is clueless and does not speak understandable English, the entrance is an outdated, dark, old, and unpleasant Casino. The Circus Circus is full of low lives, trashy people, and thugs. It is very disorganized; with little children running around screaming, laying on the floor, etc. As soon as you walk in, all you smell is cigarette smoke (worse than any other hotel). We couldn't sleep at all because of people next door banging on the doors, and making loud noises. The Adventure Dome is okay. We ended up staying at a different hotel (that's how bad this hotel is). DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!!

I stayed in the Casino Tower which was a great deal. I loved this hotel due to the amount of shops and foodie stores on site. (Krispy Kreme) The casino was very nice and so was the staff.I love the location on the strip because its not too crowded at the hotel from visitors and site-seers.. I went on this trip with friends and family (group of six), and everyone loved the hotel and casino. Adventure Dome was presently surprising at how big it is. I believe this is what attracted so many children and families to this specific hotel on an off season. Overall stay was great will stay again!

Room Tip: If you love comfort stay away from the manor rooms. Casino tower and other towers at Circus Circus w...
