“Great Resort Hotel, location, service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2012

The hotel is marvelous. we stayed at the Palace Tower. we were a party of 4. The room was spacious and beautiful. We had a nice view and couldn't have asked for more. While Las Vegas Strip as a whole is very expensive, this hotel had everything we needed, at a las vegas cost.. overall no resort fee and free parking was a perk! and the location is perfect.

Room Tip: The palace tower was great. we stayed in the 23rd floor and the view was fine.

We stayed here for 5 days. This iconic hotel is massive. You need a map to get to your room. haha.. Room was great. Clean and comfortable. Excellent location on the strip. Lots of restaurants and fantastic shopping. Pool area was amazing. Absolutley gorgeous. Loved it. Would stay here again for sure.

Caesar's once the king of the strip has been surpassed by other newer properties but you cannot beat the location on Las Vegas Blvd. We got a great deal for Dec 24 and 25 at only $82 per night but we did stay in the Roman tower- the oldest on the property. Still it was spacious and comfortable despite its age. Caesar's can be a challenge to find your way around the interior of the casino area with corridors and passageways everywhere. We were told if we arrived at noon we might be able to get into our room before the 3:00pm check in time. They have a guarantee of the room at noon for $20 but I was told on the phone- if the room was available the charge would be waived. That wasn't the case at registration where I was promptly told at noon- 'we have rooms available but you will have to pay an additional
$20". We passed and went to lunch and came back later. Sort of a bait and switch maneuver I felt. One word about the buffet- the wait can be 2-3 hours for dinner and 1-2 hours for lunch or brunch. Of course, for an extra $20 per person they move you to the front of the line. Where have I seen that before? On the 24th of December, dinner was in the high $60 range with brunch in the low $60 range. Two tips worth considering:
1. Parking in the garage is tight. We had a very difficult time finding a place despite 5 floors of parking due to the popularity of the Forum shops. Go to valet park in the parking structure itself - it is free even to non-hotel guests. All you have to do is tip the staff a couple of bucks after he brings your car up. It is also on the ground floor of the casino saving the hassle of elevators and luggage as you maneuver your way to the hotel lobby for check in.
2. The recommended way to Caesar's parking from the I-15 north (coming from L.A.) is Frank Sinatra Drive. Get off the freeway several miles back (almost as you enter town) and stay on Frank Sinatra a couple of miles until you come to Jay Sarno way and then turn right into the parking structure. Don't make the mistake of getting off at Flamingo or you will have to turn left onto Las Vegas Blvd and then left again into the property from the front entrance. This can be very diifficult when the traffic is heavy and it almost always is on Las Vegas Blvd.

Room Tip: The Roman tower has a partial view of the strip on the east facing rooms. I say partial because the...

There is a complete lack of care, concern or respect of the customer at this hotel. None of the operational systems work correctly. On department has no idea how any other department works. For example, the front desk has no idea what times the restaurants are open of the cost of anything. The buffet is great if you don't mind paying through the nose and waiting in a 2-3 hour line like cattle. If you arrive at 8am, you can skip the line, but there is no good time to go for dinner. Try the buffet at Paris instead. The room was old and nasty, broken lights, the cable was out, the pool was freezing cold. The casino staff are worn out. They look like they are ready to keel over. It is really sad. The hotel shut off the water at midnight with no notice. Only the first floor restaurants and bars have water. My co-worker had to go to the spa to take a shower in the morning. The positives; location, the pillows and breakfast, although at $125, breakfast was overpriced. I could go on, but I have nothing else good to say about this place. I had such a positive memory from the last time I was here and boy have things changed. I highly recommend the burgers at Serendipity III on the plaza in front of the hotel.

Room Tip: Insist on staying in the New Tower, although they lost water pressure and had no showers when I was...

We had booked a king room in the Augustus Tower, but upon check in, were upgraded to Octavius, what a great surprise. Valet for the two VIP towers was convenient and our luggage was delivered in a timely manner. Everyone we interacted with was kind and helpful. The room was beautiful & spotless, bed comfortable, and the bathroom was amazing. With a jetted spa tub for two and a separate shower, it's as large as our bedroom at home! My partner takes forever getting ready, this bathroom was his dream come true.
The ventilation in the casino seems to have improved from past visits, and the Forum Shops that are connected are so convenient for dining and just walking around. Try the Bachannal buffet - it's worth it. The breakfast was awesome!
Normally we stay downtown at the Golden Nugget, as we feel like the Strip is just too crowded and difficult to get in/out of...however, this trip to Caesar's changed everything. The crowds are worth it, in order to stay in a place as nice as this.
Finally, a special mention to Toni-Ann at check in and Dave at the Octavius valet, both of who took care of us and made us feel very welcome and relaxed after a slightly stressful arrival in Vegas.

Room Tip: The Augustus and Octavius towers are definitely worth the slight increase in room cost.

Warning:

They may charge you for mini bar while you haven't used it. I checked out by their TV service and when I received my bill by email they charged me for 11 items I never used. So, be careful.
Other things were very good; room was clean and quiet for sleep however you could feel alcohol smell all the time.

We were at one of the palace tower rooms and the problem is they are not close to the parking and it's far and tiring to get there.
