I have stayed in many Las Vegas hotels before, but never in Caesars Palace, because I thought it's kind of "old". In September 2012, I attended a conference and stayed in Caesars Palace for a week. It was much better than my expectation.
I paid a conference special rate of $129/night, the lady at the registration searched hard for an available upgrade, and found me a room on the 41th floor in the Augustus tower, so I tipped her very well. The room is large, about 165 sq ft, with a jacuzzi tub. The view is awesome from here, directly looking down at the Bellagio fountain and the strip. The new Bacchanal Buffet Restaurant just opened a few days ago, the line was very very long, it took me 1.5 hours to get in, but it's worth the wait! (at least once)
The elevator was very available and fast, I never had to wait for more than 10 seconds before one is availalbe. I didn't go to the swimming pool, but it looked great. There are many new slot machines, but it's hard to get them to spit out winnings. I actually won $90 from an old, traditional 3-reel $1 slot machine.
The only problem was the previous guests smoked in this non-smoking room, it smelled ugly and I'm surprised the room service did not find out when they checked out. I called guest service, they placed an Ozone machine in my room twice, and replaced all the pillows. On the 3rd day the smell was completely gone.
I did not use the mini-bar because it's ridiculously expensive. The jacuzzi tub was fun, although it took 30 minutes to fill up the hugh tub, and the water had to be above a sensor dot, otherwise the pump won't turn on. Overall it's a great experience!
