“Second stay at a magical location.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2012

This was our second time staying at the Bellagio. The view of the fountains from the room with the music that the fountains are synchronized with on the TV is magical. Rooms are always perfectly clean and beautifully decorated, comfortable beds, and excellent room service. The Fitness center has everything you could possibly want and the spa is excellent. The hotel's public areas are just beautiful in very season and the check-in/check-out is good considering the crowds. All the hotels check-in areas are busy most of the time. All the restaurants have been wonderful and never encountered any member of the staff in any area of the hotel that was not nice. Wonderful, love it, would come back again and again.

Room Tip: Go for a room facing the fountains, try for the center rooms on as high a floor as possible to get a...

We stayed at this hotel in early January. We booked the Deluxe Lakeview Room and got exactly what we had asked for, including non-smoking room and king size bed. The room was very nice, looked recently renovated. The bathroom was huge and very nice, large shower and bath. The bed and pillows were one of the most comfortable that we have ever slept in. Mini bar prices are quite expensive, and do not move anything in the fridge because you will be charged for it, even if you replace it.
The fountain show seen from our room on the 23rd floor, was spectacular, well worth the extra money. Unfortunately, while we were there, the atrium was being renovated for the upcoming Chinese New Year. Not a lot of other attractions in the hotel, compared to others.
We did not eat at the hotel, as it was very expensive, but our friend did have the breakfast buffet one morning at a pricey tag of $25 – he hadn’t realized that it was in fact the brunch on Saturday morning!
The staff was not overly friendly, but courteous.
The only problem we encountered was at check-in; we waited 20 minutes, while one customer was being served in our line. They should have only one line-up, so that the next guest waiting would be served next, instead of several lines in front of each clerk. Check-out was quicker.
Overall, we were very pleased with this hotel.

First off, this was a beautiful place. Extremely grand and a Las Vegas Icon. It started off great with an early check in and a room upgrade which was extremely nice of them. It was New Year's Day so I presume lot of people were checking out after a big night out. The check in process though was extremely slow. It took about 30 mins of standing in line. This was definitely the longest check in I have ever experienced!

The room was nice, probably 4 star quality compared to other properties around the world. Bathroom large but basic. The view of the water fountains and strip were beautiful, something we watched every day at least once... One bad thing which we have noticed lately is that the fridge was electronic and full of their own drinks. You can't take anything out because you get charged and that also means you can't put any of your own food or drinks inside... It would be nice to have your own foods or drinks to consume without having to buy theirs at expensive prices.

We ate at the one Michellin Star restaurant "Le Cirque," which was nice without being great. The service and friendliness of the restaurant staff was very inconsistent, something not really acceptable to us. The food was tasty and creative, again nice without being great.

The Jean-Philippe Chocolates and Pastries cafe within Bellagio was divine. Unbelievable creations, the biggest chocolate fountain in the world and a sweet tooth's paradise. Definitely worth the purchase, we went back several times!

Overall, the extravagance and location of the Bellagio can't be beat. Its right in the heart of the Strip. Its just the little things that could be improved that would make it truly memorable.

Hope this helps fellow trip advisors.

We booked late for the CES and could only get suites. But I'm not complaining. At >$1,000 a night I expect to get not just a great room but also excellent service.

The room was well appointed and large: bedroom and sitting room. 3 (!) bathrooms was a bit too much and felt like a waste, but again, I'm not complaining.

What I am complaining about is the small stuff that continued going wrong.
+ Scale in the bathroom didn't work
+ Hair dryer was not powerful enough (I'd think it would be easy to fix!)
+ With a $20 resort fee there was no water in the room! Had to rummage in the minibar
+ And the most annoying: I made sure to collect all the materials they leave on just about every surface (magazines, in-room dining, etc.) and stashed them away because I don't want to be looking at them. Every day they came back. Come on, people! I know the instruction probably says so, but would it really hurt you to respect my personal desires and do LESS work?

Overall, while the hotel is obviously good, the value for money isn't.

We booked a Bellagio Suite for business purposes and it worked out perfectly. The $869 price tage, about $1000 after taxes might seem pricey but the setting was nice and the amenities were perfect for business meetings. The rooms are newly renovated and it is done very nice.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that is not toward the end of the hall. If you are looking for something where you w...

We stayed at the Bellagio for three nights over New Year. I had read mixed reviews on Trip Advisor but chose it ultimately because of its location and its iconic status. I am going to be completely fair and honest with my review as our stay was a 'mixed bag' which is why i've given a general rating of 'average'.

Good bits:

Check in was fairly smooth. Given that it was 30th Dec and the hotel was filling up for NYE the queues were minimal. There was a slight hiccup with our booking (the hotel had filed the booking under wrong name but this was quickly sorted out). We had a deluxe room and were offered an upgrade to a suite BUT at a huge price. The inflated price was probably due to NYE and we declined. We had a deluxe room which we were told had recently been refurbished. It did not disappoint, the room was lovely. We didnt have a lake/fountain view as our room was at the back of the hotel but it had views of the mountains which we loved. The bed was fantastic, very comfortable. Bathroom was clean, well equipped and plenty of hot water.

Food - We had room service the first night as we had been travelling for 24 hours and were too tired to get dressed up and go out for dinner. The quality of the food and the presentation was good. Towards the end of our stay we had breakfast the Bellagio Cafe. The food was very good (albeit PRICEY), portion sizes are large and we had to leave alot of it.

I'd like to give a special mention to a incredibly kind shop assistant in the Bellagio gift shop. I can't remember her name but she was such a sweetie, a credit to the Bellagio.

Bad bits:

Dont touch the mini bar, unless you want to £50 for a bottle of diet coke!! Ok, maybe not quite that much but the prices are crazy! The bars are also fitted with sensors and sometimes even knocking an item will have it charged to your room automatically (this happened to us). There were also some snacks on the counter above the bar and again these were huge prices.

There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room or any complimentary items (apart from toiletries). This was disappointing for the amount of money you pay.

We weren't overly impressed with the staff. I guess with a hotel that size it's very hard to maintain a personal touch. Apart from the lady in the gift shop, I didnt find them that friendly (even after some healthy tipping).

Room Tip: Watch the prices! Smoking floors smell terrible and although the other floors are referred to as...

We stayed in the Bellagio from 19th dec to 23rd December and it was fabulous we originally paid for a king delux but we upgraded to the fountain views and it was worth the extra $30 per night. The rooms were modern and recentley refurbished its was great! The staff were really helpful and the food was good. Be warned the queues for the buffets at the Bellagio are massive you can queue for 1 hour minimum if you don't get there early! also the pre fix menus in the restaurants finish around 7.30pm otherwise you have to pay full price and it is expensive!

Room Tip: Pay the view up grade to fountains it's worth it
