“Met all of our needs”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2013

Stayed at Bill's mid December and had no complaints. Check in was very quick and all of the personnel throughout our stay were very kind and courteous. Considering many of them might be out of a job in Feb they were very professional.

I had stayed there in the mid-late 80's when it was the Barbary Coast and had always wanted to get back there. We go to Vegas once or twice a year and like to stay on the strip and it doesn't get much better than where Bill's is located. Even when we weren't staying there, we would always stop in to have a drink or do a little gambling.

The rooms are very clean and spacious. However, as big as the rooms are, the bathroom area is pretty small. We like the smaller casino, as we were with two other couples and we could always find each other very easily. Also liked the number of $5 black jack tables, and the fact Bill's does not charge resort fees.

Behind Bill's and around the corner is an awesome Italian restaurant called Bautistas that is very authenic and has hundred's of pictures on the walls from back in the old days. We have eaten there 4-5 times and it is always good.

As others have mentioned, sorry to see Bill's go, but also looking forward to see what the new place will look like.

“Great location, great price, ok hotel.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2013

Bills is a small, older hotel which needs renovation badly. They will be renovating in February so the cheap prices will also vanish. The location is outstanding, dead center of the strip. We stayed in the z3 suite which was gigantic and kept clean, but was dated. We enjoy modern decor, but couldnt find any anywhere. For the price bills was great. The front desk workers were pleasant, honest, and helpful. Housekeeping did their jobs well. The bartenders were friendly and even gave us helpful hints for dining.

“Hotel closing avoid”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2013

Hotel badly needs updating. They will close to do this. Front desk wanted extra money to check in before 3 PM. Once in the room they needed updating badly. Closing hotel with great location is the right thing to do.

“My last hurrah at Bill's”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2013

Dec 9-14, 2012 was to be my last stay at the Bill's we know. It will close in Feb of 2013 for two years of total remodel into what Caesar's/Harrah's calls a boutique hotel (with a new pool on the roof). As usual the service at Bill's was outstanding. They upgraded me to a two room suite on the second floor with a bar and two bathrooms. Even my gambling at Bill's seemed to be better this time. The only small complaint this year was the absence of wait staff at the poker machines in the rear of the casino. But, hey....you gamble better sober anyway. Where will the "frugal" Las Vegas vacationer go when Bill's and Imperial Palace (now, The Quad) go when these two great places leave the strip and reinvent themselves to a more "upscale" (which in Vegas terms means more expensive) venues? Looks like, here we come Freemont Street! Just the old time ambiance of Bill's was good enough for me. I liked a casino hotel that only took you 5 minutes or less to get from your room to The Strip. Farewell Bill's Gambling Hall, you will be missed

“Acceptable alternative to mega-hotels on the trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2013

I give them a 5 for price and location and a 3 on hotel quality.

I stayed on the weekend before New Year's in 2012, so a lot of hotels were either booked or really expensive. Bill's was less than half the price compared to the giant hotels that surround it on the strip. The location can't be beat, right on the corner of Flamingo and the strip. It's an easy walk to Caesar's, the Bellagio, Ballys, and the Cosmopolitan. The hotel is definitely old, and they're planning to demolish it in Feb 2013.

The staff were friendly and helpful, but there were a few things that were a bit off. The hallways smelled strongly of cleaning solvent, although I suppose that's better than smelling like cigarettes. A few other annoying things include the tub that didn't drain well, being placed next to the Housecleaning office and hearing the door open and close all morning, and the lack of a "Do Not Disturb" sign in the room that we could hang on the door.

So, this might not be the hotel for you, but it's worth giving a shot if you'd rather spend your money on the food/drinks/gambling/shows in Las Vegas instead of the hotel.
