“great location on strip”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

Planet hollywood had a great location on the strip but as far as the rooms go they are very average we stayed in the Matt Damon room and they have photos and memorabilia in the rooms for one of the films he stared in which was good will hunting the view was ok and beds were comfortable enough but the room was so basic was expecting better but we got the room cheap so don't know if al the rooms are the same but for two nights it was ok would stay different hotel next time.

This hotel charges way too much for the quality of rooms they have. I got a room there for my son's 21st bday, went to check in and their system was down. The desk clerks were not friendly at all. She kept leaving the desk without excusing herself.

The room? The room was very disappointing. The beds are obviously worn out, they've sunk in the middle. The shower is really dirty. There were hair on the bathroom floor. The place needs complete makeover including the employees.

We stayed here for one night during a trip to Lake Havasu City, AZ. The hotel is sort of located on the fabulous strip. By that I mean you have to go through the M mall to get to the main part of the hotel. We had never been there, and had never used valet parking. Huge mistake. We decided to self park and walk. Well you have to walk through the mall to get to the front desk. Dragging our bags through the mall we felt like fools. It was a long walk. The lobby is dark and gloomy because the access to the hotel is below street level. Front desk staff were not friendly at all. The room was very nice. Featured some movie memorabilia, which was nice and unique. The beds and pillows were super comfortable. Nice tv, but very few channels. No coffee maker in our room. The bathroom was nice with a separate shower and tub, and the room was huge. The bedroom was very clean, the bathroom sink area was a little grungy, especially around the faucet.
Even though we had a non smoking room, we smelt cigarette smoke.
The casino is colorful and modern. It was a Thursday night and there was a band in one area and a dancer in another.
I was shocked to learn there is no free Internet in any of the strip hotels. There is no fridge in the room, you can pay extra and they will bring you one.
Overall, after going through other hotels and casinos I would stay elsewhere. Caesars Palace would probably be a better choice, and similar in cost. The Trump looks fantastic, there is no casino there and it is set back off the strip. The Bellagio would be better, but also cost more. I would not stay at Planet Hollywood again. Actually, if you have a car and are not a major gambler, I would recommend staying off strip. Parking at all the hotels is free and it was not hard to find a place to park.

Room Tip: If you don't need the strip action and have a rental a car, stay off strip and have a few more f...

I tend to travel to Vegas for conferences and this was my first stay at the Planet Hollywood. I was pleased that the hotel was connected to a mall, close to other conference hotels, and offered great show options. However, the room seemed dark and my bathroom had stains on the ceiling along with loose fixtures. Overall, the food options were great and the staff were helpful, but it's probably time for the hotel to start renovating the rooms.

Hotel staff was always helpful and pleasant. I had a room with a fountain and strip view. The view of the fountains were partially blocked by the big Paris hotel balloon. The room was clean, but could use some updating. While the bathroom was large there was no vent. Casino area was kept clean.

Stayed here recently for business travel to a conference. PH has a great location on the strip being close to Paris, Caesars, and the Bellagio. You can also pretty easily walk back to MGM and NY NY.

My room had a great view of the Bellagio and the gorgeous fountains. Be warned though the fountains go off late into the night with music!

The bed was comfortable and we could have held a conference breakout in the spacious bathroom. Would stay here again.

Room Tip: View of Bellagio fountains is amazing from 1885 and 1887 BUT they go off late into the night with mu...

Still a fantastic location ( obviously) and still a rather nice hotel, however it has lost that personal touch that it once had and you really do feel like a room filler. We booked 2 rooms for 8 days and paid extra for a view of the strip and to be fair if you pressed your ear to the window and squinted and used a lot of imagination you could almost see the strip, really really not worth the money sadly. Rooms were pretty clean however the corridors were rather quite dirty with room service trays and debris all over the place. The hotel now seems to cater for the late teens early 20's market and this evident from the groups of drunk idiots and the incredibly strong smell of weed coming from the bedrooms that the staff don't seem bothered with.

This used to be my favourite hotel on the strip but sadly I don't think I'd bother going back

Cheers al
