“Great spot for your first Vegas trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2013

This was now my 3rd stay at PH so decided i should really write a review. I visited with friends for my recent 30th and decided on PH purely because of location and price. You cant be in a better spot on the strip which is really important as many previous visitors will no doubt tell you. Rooms are huge and clean, Maybe in need of a little TLC but the standard is similar to most of the hotels in Vegas. Plenty to see and do in the hotel, Some great restaurants - We twice visited BurGR which serves up a pretty good burger and hot dawg! Casino is always busy and good mix of bars. You cant beat the place if your looking for a hotel that has a bit of atmosphere and style check it out!

We stayed for 4 nights in January 2013. We have stayed there numerous times before and really enjoyed the location and the hotel/casino. Checking in was quick and easy, front desk staff very friendly. Although the rooms could stand a bit of TLC, they are spacious and clean with comfortable beds. We love all the eating choices that are available in both the hotel and connecting Miracle Mile mall. The Spice Market Buffet is always top notch and there are lots of place to grab a quick bite in the mall area. They are doing some renovations in the casino area and, although most of it was great, they don't seem to have a lot of the popular slot machines that many of the other casinos have. We used to do most of our gambling there, but this time we did very little at PH and spread it around the neighboring casinos. We got a great rate at the hotel with a free upgrade so we were definitely pleased with our stay, but the casino was a little disappointing. It is still a great location and a fun place to stay (and no Resort Fees) and it's easy enough to walk next door or across the street if the gambling is not to your liking!

We were disappointed when we recently stayed at Planet Hollywood. The hotel needs some renovations and fast. The carpets in the hall were worn and bunched up. The rooms also needed some attention. The rooms looked OK when you first walked in, but once we stayed for a while, we saw the furniture was chipped and the built in with the TV had doors missing and they just filled the holes for the screws for the hinges and painted over it. The towels and linens could stand to be replaced. They just were not that fresh looking.

We did have a problem with check-in. We travelled with another couple and when we booked we had requested rooms together. When we checked in, which was fairly early in the day, they were trying to put us on different floors. When they finally cleared up the situation, our friends' room was ready and we could go to their room, but ours was not. When we got into our room at 3:00, we went in and there were used glasses, facecloths and shampoo, etc in the bathroom. GROSS!!! We called down to housekeeping and were told that the room was cleaned as "occupied" not "new guest". So glad I did not climb into the bed for a nap. They did come fairly quickly to correct the mistake.

There are no fridges in the room. The bell desktold us we could get one for under $10 a night, but when we called down, we were told they were $25 a day. Also, we called for wine glasses and were told there was a $5 charge to bring them up. Internet is approximately $15 per 24 hours PER DEVICE. It is a rip off. This hotel may not have a resort fee, but they nickel and dime you for everything else.

The location is terrific and the casino is decent as well. The valet service was much quicker than the last time we visited the casino. The buffet use to be one of the best, but that has gone downhill as well.

I don't think we'll stay there again and will look for something a little more upscale.

My husband and I enjoy gambling at Planet Hollywood because its very upbeat. They play good music and it just has a very sexy vibe to it... After all the gaming pit is called "the pleasure pit". This was our first and probably last time staying here though. The pool area is just blah, lounges surrounded by cement walls no plants or anything pretty. The room is very small and the carpets were so nasty I wouldn't even take my flip flops off. The buffet is ok. But here are a few positive attributes... The location is perfect! The Steak House is excellent! Even though the window in my room was small the view was awesome!

I stayed for four nights in February 2013. The location is terrific, well placed on "The Strip" with easy access to most Las Vegas attractions and the adjacent Golden Mile shopping centre. The casino was as good as any other, with good dining options.I had several snacks at Daily Planet and the service was generally excellent.

The let down was the room. My room (1585) has a great view over the Eiffel Tower Restaurant,Paris and Bellagio Fountains but smelled musty. I had been told that the room had no bath, but it was actually a specially designed room for the disabled. The tiles are coming off the wall in the shower due to drainage problems and the shower head was not fixed properly. The bathroom is damp and unhealthy.
The lack of free wi-fi in the rooms needs to be fixed. $13 per day is not a fair price!
Despite the floor being "non-smoking" the smell of cigarettes was all pervasive. If the hotel was serious about this they would have better signage and would not put sand trays by the lifts (which became a magnet for smokers).
Noisy guests were a problem every night, but I guess you would expect that in a casino.Maybe some signage to encourage guests to respect others?
I mentioned the problems on checkout but I did not get a sense of any interest from staff, so doubt that anything will be done.

Room Tip: Ask to check room, and pay particular attention to state of bathroom.

We stayed here two nights in November, got the mountain luxury view room. The room was quite big but def a bit worn down but not terrible. It is true there's just one small window, kinda odd. Our bath tub was dirty with hair still in it, they came up & scrubbed it with bleach. Also found old socks on the chair and nasty old flip flops by the bed upon check in... Kinda gross that the head board is velvet, especially since the rooms aren't super clean.

The plus side is that the rooms here can be cheap and the location is excellent! Step outside and city center bellagio and Cosmo r right across the street and you're close to Paris and MGM. Lots of points for an A + spot and cheap rates but the rooms are definitely not great other than being a pretty good size, definitely could squeeze some ppl into the mountain luxury room, but if u r looking for luxury this hotel is not for u. We also scoped out their pool area which was Super lame, very out dated, could be cool if they remodeled as it has great views since its on a higher floor.

We stayed at PH midway through our stay. It was 8 out of 10 on the cleanliness factor but the room had an awesome view of the Bellagio Fountains. The girl at the desk recognized it was my birthday and made sure we had something nice. That meant a lot to me. The location is perfect to get around. It had a lot of people around our age, (35). It was great. I would stay there in future stays, however i will probably not go back to Vegas ever again as there are so many other places to travel in the world.
