Fitzgeralds offers a great location (center of Freemont Street) and value in downtown Las Vegas. The room was clean and the hotel in general was clean. The on-site restaraunt was another great value! On-site free parking was average.

The location is awesome... right on Freemont experience. The casino actually has good action. 6 deck BJ with a big rail for spectators, roullette and a decent poker room (but there are way better in downtown). They do smoke there... so that's the first clue of the cleanliness factor.
I've been here twice (the first was obviously better) and each time there were questions from our group about the shower, toilet, TV and overall cleanliness of the room... Non smoking means, well, you didn't smoke there. The staff was more than quick to tell us about comps which is good, but all but unresponsive when you ask for basic things like towels, let alone a leaky faucet.
There was one reeeeaally bright spot... the breakfast buffet is solid and you can probably get it comped with 2 hours at a floor table. Another push is the price... but the value is strained. We paid $89 a night with free transportation to and from the airport.
If these things are things you don't mind, have at it... but don't have any expectations about this being big time vegas...

I have been to Vegas a bunch of times I usually stay at the Queens. This time I went to Vegas with my sister Oct 17th threw the 21st. The first three nights my sister complained of being itchy and she had all these red bites all over her legs. That night she saw fleas. The next morning I was on the phone with my husband and two jumped on my sock that was it. Her legs had bites all over them. We went down to get another room and they sent us to the security guard to file a complaint. This guy was a complete moron. He took pictures of my sisters legs and asked the stupidest questions. I could tell by the way he was talking to us he didbn't believe us and thought we were making it up. If you saw my sisters legs you would understand how bad they were.We had to fill out this complaint you would of thought it was a police investiagtion. He wanted to come to our room to do an inspection. He rips all the bedding off and I told him by doing that you just threw them all over the room. The guy is an idiot and the hotel is a dump..But if by chance you do go there be weary of the wanna be cop with the bad acne and bad hair to go with it.

My girlfriends and I just got back from Vegas, we had a great time on freemont street, EXCEPT for staying at Fitzgeralds. I have been reading the reviews and they didn't sound too bad, but from the moment I walked through the doors I knew I had made a very bad mistake. The first thing to greet me was the smell, it is one I will remember for a long time (and it was not good) second the check-in system was down, took them 1 hour to get it back up and running. The girl at the counter was very rude, she didn't even ask if we would like to store our luggage while we waited (you can not have any luggage on the gambling floor). Next we were supposed to have rooms together, but they were not even on the same floor in fact the were 15 floors apart. Next Fitz is doing some remodeling and the elevators were not working properly, we waited 20 min for the elevator to stop on the 15th floor, before finally taking the stairs down. Then when we checked out we had to ride the elevator up to the top and back down in order not to have to carry our luggage down those same stairs. The towles were grey (once white), there was at least a inch of dust behind the bathroom door on the trim, carpet was stained and ripped, shower dripped, wall paper was tore is several places. Room also had the same funky smell. We couldn't get another room because they were all booked. The casino floor made you want to take a shower after playing in it. In fact in the bathroom that is exactly what a call girl was doing, washing herself off in the sink, only thing she had on was her earring and bra. (just what I needed to see at 3:30 in the morning) cleaning parts that she used for service.

While the rest of freemont street was alot of fun, and we didn't let this ruin our time, I WOULD NEVER STAY AT FITZGERALDS AGAIN EVEN IF IT WERE FREE!!

Next time its the golden nugget, which we checked out in detail! VERY NICE

We stayed at the Fitzgerald during the Las Vegas Bikefest Weekend. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel staff was courteous. The best food value was the "all you can eat" Soup & Salad bar for $5.99 per person. It included a drink and dessert. The only disappointment was the elevator situation. They are upgrading them and the elevators are very slow or fill up too quickly (10 people max). However, we would definitely stay there again.
