“Catch the evening music and laser show in the park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Sam's Town is off the strip, but I think that is an advantage!! The rooms are set up in a square with "the park" in the middle--definitely go for the park view room. The park had trees, bird sounds and animated animals. Late afternoon and evening the animals and the fountain kinda come to life. There is music, fountains, waterfalls and mists--listen for the coyote howl for the start of the show! At night there is quite a laser show on the "mountain" behind the fountain. We had room 520 and looked right at the show-fantastic view! The rooms are very nice, not a lot of channel selection on the TV, but I guess most people are not there to watch TV. There are two parking garages (make sure you note which one you park in) and they also have valet parking. Lots of restaurants including some chains. Machines didn't pay off as well as the ones in Ely.

April 16 - 19 April 2015
2 queen beds
Cab from airport was $30.25 (tax was added on top of that amount)
We arrived about 7 pm - there was no wait (it was a Thursday night)
Assigned room 782 (non smoking room), which had a lovely view of the park. We were almost above the waterfall area - although we could hear the show happening, the latest show was at 10pm and did not, in any way, bother us with regards to sleep.
The room and furniture/fixtures were in good repair and the carpet even appeared quite clean.
We stayed at Sam's Town for the first time because we enjoy gambling at their casino. While there also checked out the Longhorn and Cannery Row (we didn't have a vehicle and they are in walking distance).
The room had a desk and task chair and a 'lounge' chair (it was really the only tired looking piece of furniture in the room). The beds and pillows were comfortable. The air conditioning worked so well that we had a cold night on our first night ... we regulated the temperature better after that.
Internet was good enough.
TV was fine with reasonably good selection of channels.
Bathroom - I used the bathtub and my Mom the shower. Both worked well. The soaps are Gilchrist and Soames - which was quite nice. The hair dryer was slow but ok.
We enjoyed our stay and managed some comps in the casino.
Would definitely return and recommend to friends.

It's off the strip but it's a nice casino and hotel. Stayed there twice now and I have to say the hotel staff and dealers are extremely nice and helpful all around. I learned how to play a few more table games than I expected and really enjoyed the regulars and dealers who were patient and helpful to the newbie! Rooms are spacious, older but serves the purpose. I loved having a room overlooking the center of the hotel, great show for the kids 4 times a day. This is not the casino/hotel if you are looking to "whoop it up" but its a great time if you are looking to gamble!

We used to stay at the Eastside Cannery twice a year for our softball tournaments. We decided to move the team to Sam's Town because they have so many attractions there (movies, bowling, etc.). We're glad we did. Nice rooms, and a much bigger casino than the Cannery. Nicer atmosphere with the hotel reservations desk in a park-like area with animatronic animals. Would have liked a fridge in the room and all the TVs went out the first night, but in spite of that we will keep coming back.

We have stayed many places in Las Vegas from the Luxor to Red Rocks and our stay at Sams Town ranks as one of our best stays. Check in was quick and the clerk was friendly and helpful. I told her I wanted a quiet outside room and she gave us room 733, it was at the end of the hall, no room on one side and no loud traffic walking by late evening, early morning. The room was very clean and the bed so comfortable I didn’t want to get up in the morning. The shower had great water pressure and plenty of hot water. Love the greenery in the atrium, it’s a great place to take a break and relax. There is also a bar there and you can get a cocktail and enjoy the falls. The dancing water and laser shows are a must see. I think each show is different, I saw 3 and they were all different. The casino had a nice variety of slot machines, and everyone at the players club booth was very friendly and helpful. The money feeder on a slot machine I wanted to play wasn’t working and I reported it to the players club and Elaine called someone for me and it was fixed very quickly. That is customer service at its best. Buffet breakfast was delicious, the egg /omelet station was my favorite. The dinner buffet was also good, the food fresh and good variety. There is also a Mexican restaurant and a steak house and I heard good comments about both. The pool is heated, but small, lap swimming is not an option, but as a place to cool off from laying in the sun, it’s perfect. This is not a resort pool you will find on the strip. The patrons are an older crowd, so we fit right in. If you want a laid back, comfortable place to stay then Sams Town is for you. We will return.

If you like dark, 1970s decor, smoking and cheap, then this is the place. I have been to Las Vegas about 20 times, staying in various locations for business and pleausre, usually along or near the strip. I was only here at Sam's Town due to a conference held there, and I would not return, even for this conference again. About the only positive thing I can say is that the bathroom was clean. It is a depressing place with fake rocks/Mystic Falls in the lobby. Thankfully, they do offer non-smoking rooms. The pool closes at 8pm and I honestly did not find a good spot to just go outside and relax. They advertise "friendly staff" but that is really hit or miss. Three staff members didn't even know where our particular conference room was located and as it turned out, I was practically standing right in front of it. There was only 1 electric outlet on the lamp on the desk, insufficient for multiple device charging, and no outlet near the bed if, heaven forbid, you want to charge your phone and use it as an alarm clock in the morning. The desk did not have an "office" type chair either, instead an upholstered dining-type chair. Think long and hard before booking here and do not go with high expectations.

We enjoyed a pleasant stay in comfortable surroundings at Sam's Town.. It may not be as glitzy as some of the hotels and casinos on the Las Vegas Strip, but that s exactly why we booked a room there.

We normally book a room during a week day, and as a result get a good rate, less crowding, and it seems that the slots are a bit more liberal than on the weekends. The atmosphere at Sam's, and the workers, seem to be more friendly and hospitable than some of the others.
