“Very pleasant experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2010

This is an older hotel that is well kept. We were able to park right in front of our room. The room was very spacious and pleasant. Some things appeared to have been fairly recently updated like the granite bathroom counter, thermostat controlled heating and cooling, and the energy saving light system. The room was very clean and everything was in good working order. The location is near the Convention Center on a busy street but we didn't hear any noise in our room. We would certainly consider staying here again. There is also a casino, restaurant, and bar.

I have visited Las Vegas a number of times over the past year, staying in a range of different hotels, The Best Western Mardi Gras seemed on paper to be a good bet, just off the strip and what seemed to be good value, but thats were it all stops.

The rooms were of a good size, so no complaints there, however, I found the room to be quite dirty, having seem many TV progs showing hotel cleanliness, I thought I would try it and see, I cleaned the main surfaces and they were very dirty, the sink, toilet and bath had not been cleaned properly, the coffee machine had mould inside and the bedside tables were very dusty.

Whatever the cost of a hotel, I do expect the rooms to be clean!

The TV did not work and when I called guest services I found them to be rude and unhelpful, I had to wait over 2 hours for someone from maintenance to visit the room. He was unable to solve the issue and suggested I buy a book.

In his attempt to fix the issue, he managed to charge 7 films to my room, which of course I never got the chance to watch.

The rooms did have aircon, which was a welcome after the heat, but the units were very noisy and when left on at night, made it hard to drop off.

Sound proofing was not built into this hotel, so had the treat of other guests TV's plus the usual banging and crashing around from 4am.

I had booked to stay for 8 nights, but decided to check out early and move to the Mandalay Bay, what a difference and wow what a great nights sleep too.

In all not a bad place for the money, but do not go expecting service or quality to be good, you do get what you pay for in Vegas!

Having stayed in a range of hotels both on and off the strip, i would suggest that unless you want to be away from the bright lights etc, stay on the strip, hotels offer much more and its just easier to enjoy the Vegas experience.

To all the complainers out there - Jees! What do you expect? Six of us went in three rooms. All rooms are very spacious and very clean. We were treated like royalty by all staff there. Whoever wrote the review and said it was in a bad neighborhood is a total whiner - the neighborhood is fine.

Groceries, gas, and and anything you could want is all very near. We all agree we had a wonderful experience for the budget-minded traveler. We appreciate being in a motel where you can easily access your car - not being in a large strip hotel where it takes you 15 minutes to get your room once you are in the lobby - this becomes an ordeal if you forget any small thing in your car. We were ages 14 - 56, and all were very happy. The pool was larger than expected and well taken care of. We will definitely return! And to add to the fun, we were given a ton of free drinks - something we did not expect!

We did the stay park fly option - left the car for 7 days and flew to the east coast. Stayed one nite before flying out and one nite on return. Room was clean; beds were comfortable; asked for more towels/ pillow, delivered promptly. Only glitch was there were no pool towels by the late afternoon. Check in staff was friendly and manager was great. Problem on return with airport shuttle was reported to management and resolved. A little far from strip if you don't have a car - tram was nearby but pricey. Overall I was pleasantly suprised at how nice the hotel was for the price.

We stayed here for 4 nights and found the rooms to be a good size. There is room service every day and free parking. We didn't use the pool but it looked okay. The down sides we found were the location - too far from the strip in an undesirable neighbourhood, the restaurant area and bar is small and very smoky and the service was not to be found so we left our table and went elsewhere, the older guy on reception was miserable and our toilet handle kept breaking. An okay place if you are just using the hotel for sleeping.

Although there is nothing outstanding about this hotel it was a clean comfortable hotel for our one night stay in Las Vegas. We chose this hotel because it had a complimentary airport shuttle and a restaurant attached. Beware this shuttle stops for a few hours around the middle of the day and starts up again at 4pm (which we knew in advance so that was OK for us). We used the shuttle to return to the airport next morning but I would advise making sure you book it with reception because it only seems to go when it has been pre-booked.
The room was big with a nice kitchenette area, fridge and microwave. The pool area was also spacious and although we didn't use it, it looked clean and inviting.
I feel that this hotel is too far from the Strip if you want to walk to it but the monorail station is close by as is the Convention Centre.
The hot buffet breakfast was good.

Wanted to crash for a few hours at a hotel convenient to the convention center and the airport. My room was a good size with a small kitchenette, which I didn't need for my purposes. The girls staying in the next room were out partying and came back drunk falling against my door and who knows against what else. That woke me up at 4 am, but that was ok as I had to catch a 6 am flight anyway. I guess that was my wakeup call LOL. The room could use a little facelift, but it was ok. The location of the hotel is not good if you are on vacation and looking to spend some time on the strip. If you are staying here you should have a car. While the hotel is not too far from the tram, it is somewhat impractical to rely on this to get around most parts of the city. Staff was quite pleasant and helpful.
