“Best Fish and Chips Ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

This restaurant had the best views, service and food we've ever had.

We had the Fish and Chips and they were the thickest pieces of white fish and were delicious.

We also had a new York steak and it was the most flavorful and tender ever.

We will be making that trip again next time were in town.

FAR better than our experience at the overrated Harrah's where we were unfortunate enough to have stayed. Next time we will stay in one of the beautiful cabins next to the lodge for sure:)

“GOOD FOOD AND GOOD VIEW”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

We had lunch at this restaurant when we visited the Mt. Charleston. The view was excellent especially when you sit outside. The food was good too, though we had to wait for more than half an hour to get a table. We had pizza, chicken sandwich and pizzas.

“Beautiful mountain view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

We traveled the 40 minute easy, scenic drive to Mt. Charleston from Las Vegas. After taking on a short, one-hour mountain hike, we drove to the lodge. Guests have a choice of sitting inside the lodge or out on the patio. Since it was hot (we arrived during a heat spell), we chose to sit in the restaurant. Large windows look out onto the mountains. Hummingbird feeders are attached to the windows all around the restaurant and we watched the little birds as we dined.
Portions are huge. Prices are not bad, but not cheap. I ordered the 1/2 size nachos and it could easily have fed both of us. They were tasty. My husband ordered the hamburger and fries and said they were okay.
The atmosphere and food was wonderful. We'll probably go back again when we visit Vegas.

“Good views, not great food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2013

Good place to stop for a drink and take in the views. The service is ok, and they have nice outdoor seating for the warm summer months. The food isn't that great. The home made chili is hardy and decent. It's a dollar for each extra topping, aka beans cheese onions sour cream. What chili doesn't come with beans? The chicken burger is weak, and the rest of the fried stuff is just fried heart attack waiting to happen. Would return for the views, after enjoying the trails around the area but ill save my hunger for a steak somewhere else.

“Great vistas, good food, incredible service! GO TO THIS PLACE!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013

In less than 45 minutes from the constant chaos of tourist hordes on the Las Vegas Strip, you can drive to this 9000 foot elevation and enjoy nature at its finest. The A-line roof of the Mount Charleston Lodge restaurant adds to the alpine feel. The menu is simple, but the Baby Back Ribs are fabulous and served in generous portions. We also tried the elk and bison burgers, preferring the elk burger. They serve two types of sweet potato fries. We opted for the ones not topped with cinnamon. The sweet potato fries were served in very generous amounts! If you go to this place, go at lunch time. The huge deck features two sections...One directly facing the mountain with umbrella seating. The other side deck is larger and allows dogs to be seated at your table provided they are on leashes. Servers were busy, but attentive. At the back of the dining area is a year round Christmas gift shop and outside the dining area adjacent to the parking lot are four tables of Indian made jewelry, but the vendors were hawking constantly about the jewelry keeping bad spirits away. This hawking got old, but don't allow this little negative to turn you away from this gorgeous, almost secret spot. We absolutely loved this lunch spot and ended the outing with a hike of mountain trail. All I can say is that Las Vegas is so much more than just the Strip. Make sure you give this trip about 3 hours of your time. You'll be glad you did....and take the camera.
