“Great Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

I've stayed at many hotels including the Venetian which is the older tower, but for a hotel this big it was an excellent stay. Food was good. Loved the pool and sports book. Spent some time at the casino played the slots.

Our stay was nothing less than spectacular. We stayed at the Prestige Palazzo and had two rooms. Staff, rooms, lounge and the entire experience was great. WHY WOULD ANYONE STAY AT ANY OTHER PLACE? We come to Las Vegas every year and have stayed at many of the resorts but now we are hooked on the Prestige Palazzo. They have a way of making ordinary people feel extraordinary.

Just returned from 2 nights/3 days at The Palazzo. Rooms (or suites) are very roomy for lounging, plenty of places to dine around the property, pools abound. Took advantage of the lap pool (if your swimmer, bring goggles...much chlorine). With a late afternoon flight out we dropped our bags, hit the pool and simply used the gym facilities to clean up for the airport. Everyone was very helpful and nice.

What a difference a year makes. A year ago when we stayed this Hotel was luxury personified. Not so now. Yes the rooms are still fairly nice but everything else has gone downhill considerably. It starts with the lack of staff to clean up after the very young and very messy guests. To the smoking everywhere, the lack of any form of minimum dress code making for some really bad sights in the lobby, the very very bad service and food in some of the restaurants on the Casino floor, the harried maids and the lack of attention by the front desk staff. Regrettably not the sort of Hotel we will stay at again. There are better options with equal cost.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for choosing The Palazzo as your host during your recent visit to Las Vegas and for allowing us a second opportunity to serve you. After reading your review, I am truly disheartened that your experience this time around did not equate to the same experience you had last year. I am bewildered that there was such a sudden shift in service levels as this is not the standard of our resort, and I apologize immensely if we failed to exceed or even meet your expectations.

Providing unmatched individualized service is a hallmark of our standards here at the resort which should not only be consistent year after year but ever so increasing. I am disappointed that you did not experience this during your stay.

I kindly request that you be in contact with my Guest Relations team, as they will be contacting you directly, so that I may be able to learn more about the challenges you experienced. I certainly do not want to lose you as a guest, and it is through communication, such as yours, that I am better able to monitor and improve services for our guests.

Kind Regards,

Kirsten Dimond

Stayed at the Palazzo for a convention and had a terrific experience. The meeting rooms were easy to access and very comfortable. The hotel suite was extremely suitable for getting work done. The free wifi, desk, computer, and printer made getting work done a breeze. The exquisite accommodations were great for relaxing and the hotel personnel couldn't have been more professional or doting. Loved it and would definitely attend another conference at this site.

We recently stayed again at the Palazzo, our sixth time, after my mixed review last year I'd hoped for the best and the hopes weren't misplaced.

Our host had arranged limo pickup at McCarran which is always a nice touch after half a day travelling so within minutes of coming down the escalator we we're being whisked to the hotel. We arrived on a Sunday evening before a big convention but the arrival process was handled very quickly and with minimal fuss. The only downside was we we're given a room on a low floor but we're told that we could quite easily switch to a higher floor if we wanted when one became available. The desire for a change of clothes and a shower meant we took this.

The bags arrived at the room very quickly after we arrived, much quicker than last year, and a request for extra hangers was also handled very quickly.

We changed rooms the next day, the process took about 15 minutes from the phone call to check on availability of the new room to the Bellhop helping bring the bags. This was in a much better location on one of the higher floors.

Not much has changed in the onsite restaurants, it's a shame to see First go (along with Rattlecan opening and closing in the time since our last visit) but it looks like they're trying to liven up the corridor from the Strip to with some shops and a new restaurant opening soon, something to do with the Cakeboss? Also in this area they'd opened a bar called Rockhouse, but we we're never tempted inside. There were also a couple of satellite locations for the Bouchon Bakery around here, which we're of good quality and it may be marginally quicker to walk here than to queue at the Coffee locations at the bottom of the guest elevators?

SushiSamba once again impressed and still seems to be very popular. We also dined at Tao which is also a must eat place. Canyon Ranch grill also do a good breakfast which is not overly heavy.

Drink service at the pool has improved time wise, the staff are as friendly as ever.

The gym is a good size and it never got overly busy at the times we visited and the equipment is of good quality.

The casino hasn't changed much, although they were renovating when we checked out with two areas curtained off. We still managed to find looser machines in the Venetian rather than the Palazzo. Also the table games were slightly more popular on that side of the property.

The major plus point to the Palazzo is still the compactness of the property it only takes minutes to get from the Self-Park to your room, compared to some of the more expansive properties where getting in and out of your room involves a trek through the casino this is a major positive.

All in all the stay was a success and it seems the staffing levels have increased or processes have been streamlined to iron out some of the minor hassles from last year.

So this time last year we we're questioning whether we would stay there again; this time it's as good as done we're staying their next time.

Finally, I'm not sure if the beds and linens have changed since last year, but they're much better than I remember from previous years (not that they we're bad before).

Room Tip: Water pressure in the showers is much higher in the lower floors.
