Just got back from a weekend at the Palazzo. Overall, it was a very good experience, but somewhat underwhelmed after all the hype. Compared to the Venetian, I think the Palazzo is unnecessary and indistinguishable from its predecessor. The room was very nice and clean, and huge. The 3 flat screens, and a living room big enough to have a good size party. The best reason to stay at the Palazzo is the room, which is a modernized version of the Venetian room w/flat screens and remote controlled curtains. Some minor quibbles: our first impression was a little disappointing, given that the front entrance is cluttered and obstructed by ongoing construction. Inside the front entrance and lobby just felt like an afterthought, instead of something with a distinct personality or theme. But maybe that's not that important to most people. The shops and restaurants are upscale, but the layout is hard to navigate, and kind of far away from everything else, unlike the Forum Shops at Caesars or even the Venetian. The casino is small, but that wasn't a big deal for us.
We would probably stay at the Venetian instead, which is about $50 cheaper per night, and visit the Palazzo shops and restaurants, but not stay there again.
