“Decent food, but could improve service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2010

I stopped by and ordered the sashimi plate for lunch. Everything was very tasty! The restaurant was also very clean and overall appealing. It seemed nearly impossible to get the waitress's attention, however. I wanted to order a second plate, but the one waitress seemed to be spending a lot of time in the kitchen and, when she came out, she took plates from the chef to the tables and then went back into the kitchen. The restaurant was not crowded either -- twenty customers at 2:00 pm. In the end, I gave up wanting to order more and began wondering how to get my check. In the end, I waited until the waitress came out of the kitchen and then stood up so I was harder to ignore.

They either need to hire a second waitress for the afternoons, or get a more efficient one.

“Good but overrated”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2007

This resturant was listed as one of the best japanese fusion restaurants in Las Vegas, I found it very average. I ordered the Jalapeno Yellowtail appetizer for 14$, the spice overpowered the flavor of the Yellowtail. I also ordered another roll which was ok. I have eaten a lot of sushi and was disappointed by the limited menu which included baked rolls and seared fish. On the positive side the place has great atmosphere. This is a nice place to meet and hang out but is not for sushi lovers. I have been to average sushi places in NY which are much much better than Kaizen.
