“Request a back table”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2014

My husband and I went to Japonais for dinner before seeing LOVE at the Mirage. It was a very romantic place with dim lighting. For a Thursday night it was not crowded at all. I think there was only 3 other tables filled. We requested a table away from the casino which is a very good idea.

Our waitress, Koko was very attentive and pleasant. She arrive at our table immediately for our drink order. When she came back we were ready to order. We started with the Hawaiian Hamachi which was very good. For our main course we started with the Crispy Shrimp & Salmon roll, Tuna Tuna Salmon and a Spicy Tuna roll. These were all excellent rolls. We were still hungry so we order a 4th roll, but I don't remember what it was. they were all very good rolls.
For dessert my husband ordered Coconut sorbet. I don't even really like coconut but this was extremely good.

I would recommend this restaurant to anyone, it was a really nice experience.

“Wow, I look great in dim lighting!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2014

Fresh sushi and a number of interesting Japanese food items. Loved the warm towel presented at the start of the meal for your hands. Our server was fantastic and very helpful with making recommendations on the menu. The dessert sampler was to die for. The atmosphere was nice in dim lighting to make your dining experience a little more intimate.

“Unique menu and serving style.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2014

Go for the adventure. The food is very good, interesting and unique. You will have to engage your server or you will not get the maximum benefit. Like few other places, this place is one where you have to rely on the server's expertise to figure out what to order. You order tapas style so, don't be in a hurry. Also, be prepared to drop some cash. If you are looking for a quality dining adventure with unusual dishes and ingredients, this is a good one. They will serve you elaborate sharing plates and a slice of fine beef sizzled in front of you on a hot rock.

“Getaway from the casino”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2014

Assuming you have the opportunity, choose to dine as far away from the casino floor as possible. This dimly lit establishment offers delectable sushi and a number of other Japanese food items. We paired our meals with beer, including a Japanese IPA that one rarely finds in the United States. The food was top notch, and the service exceptional--one of the better meals we've had in Vegas.

“Good enough”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2014

The food was decent and the selection was ok. Compared to the barrage of outrageous sushi places in Vegas, I would not cite this as one I was I was rushing to get back to.
