Description: In January 2005, the aquatic-chic restaurant, rm seafood joined the newest wave of world class restaurants at Mandalay Place. Award-winning seafood maestro, Rick Moonen, one of the hottest chefs at the helm, was lured from NYC to create rm seafood. A mecca for seafood lovers and hipsters alike, rm seafood is a relaxed rocking bistro atmosphere that also features a world-class sushi bar & coast-coast oysters at the raw bar. Sleek and fresh with a contemporary look, the restaurant is built from mahogany with lots of glass and reminiscent of yachts and wooden boats. Whether creating a new dish with fresh finds from America's best Fish Markets or praising the provenance and quality of eco-friendly seafood, Rick Moonen's passion for seafood is contagious. Reservations always recommended.

“The Boiler Room - What you Need to Know”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2014

We went here, my husband and I, in July 2014 for dinner.

The good -
- The ambiance is bar none - it's got a victorian vibe, but's been updated. For example - the waitress uniforms have the victorian corsets - but they are worn on the outside - we loved the ambiance
- The bar mixes unique drinks - we ordered their signature libation called Fleur De Leis (maybe spelled it wrong) - you have to try it! The bar tender comes to your table and mixes this in front of you- it's a hoot!! And it tasted wonderful - so many different tastes in this drink
- The fish tacos come in three - and are light and spicy - a must try
- the grilled cheese sandwich is a finger-food size, and delicious, 4 different cheeses blended together to perfection, served with Golden Onion consume for dipping, it's great
- the Jumbo Spring Asparagus is a must for folks who love this vegetable . It's served in a cast iron mini-griddle and topped with a poached egg, parmesan cheese and truffle oil.
- The chef and the restaurant manager stop by to see if you are doing all right and ask for suggestions

What's not so great
The restaurant is in what's called the Mandalay Place - which is a shopping mall, so it doesn't show up on any of the printed maps of Mandalay bay
- we ordered the salmon under glass - it was OK but didn't think it was as great as the others, it comes with 'smoke' over it which clears after the glass lid is listed. The salmon was to die for, but not as plentiful as I'd expected, but the vegetables around it were great.

Net/Net - This was a once in a lifetime experience and we'd do it again when we're in Vegas next. Highly recommended.

This little restaurant at Mandalay Bay is a welcome respite from the rest of the bright lights of Vegas. The atmosphere is steampunk-inspired, so lovely dim lights and fabulous furniture. It was very unexpected, as was the quirky comfort food menu - the bacon wrapped bacon and the chicken pot pie bites were some of our table's favorite. However, the brussel sprouts were also exceptional, as were the entrees. Everything about this place was beyond all one would expect of Rick Moonen and Las Vegas.

“Unique place for a drink”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

First, there is some confusion on these reviews between Rx Boiler Room and RM seafood restaurant below on the first floor.

We went to the Rx Boiler room. Think Steampunk atmosphere (worth a google). They have some awesome drinks on the menu that will blow your mind. My drink came out bubbling gas (liquid nitrogen maybe?) and was a cool take on a rum and coke. Best $18 I ever spent on a single mixed drink. My wife had a great drink as well. Check it out, even if its just for one, it is a fun spot.

“Happy hour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2014

Ambience was great, server was attentive, food presentation exceptional. We enjoyed the fresh guacamole served with huge homemade slices of potato chips, buffalo oysters and the quail egg and pork belly on bruschetta. A bit more than we usually spend on happy hour snacks, but the quality of the food and the ambience was worth it
