“Amazing Hotel very close to the Vegas Strip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2010

My husband and I stayed at Platinum hotel & Suites for 2 days. Such a great hotel! It is 2 blocks off of the main strip. The front desk staff and valet were all very nice and extremely helpful. It's such a quiet hotel and a nice retreat when you are done gambling/partying and just want to hit the bed- no loud and smoky casino to pass through before getting to your room. It was like we rented an apartment -each room has a balcony that you can sit out on. Huge bathrooms with his & her sinks, a shower stall and huge whirlpool tub that can probably fit 4 ;-) The pool area is super quiet and laid back and has indoor and outdoor areas. We weren't looking for the lively pool scene that Vegas is known for so this was great for us and would probably be good for people with children. We didn't get a chance to try any of the restaurants in the hotel, but all had interesting menus and were very chic and trendy. Overall super clean and relaxing hotel that comes highly recommended.

I give this place 2 thumbs up. The room space was evry nice. and great customer service. They open the door when you walk up... the little things count. Family is going this weekend and they are staying here.

Hotel stay was great. Non-smoking, non-gaming and very quiet hotel 1 block from strip. Easy walk even in August heat. Room was very large with washer/dryer and fireplace. Front desk staff were friendly and accommodating. Valet parking staff were excellent. Did not try restaurant or lounge nor did we use the pool. Only minor complaint was that housekeeping was a bit lax with vacuuming and replacing toiletries. Would definitely recommend!

I chose this hotel for a number of reasons:
1. Its about a 5-10 minute walk from the Las Vegas Strip
2. Its an all suites hotel
3. It has no gambling facilties
4. It has an indoor/outdoor pool only accessible to residents
5. The price of the room!! Amazing Value!!

I booked a 21-day non-refundable room rate and made a slight error which Claire helped me with. Upon arrival at the hotel we had been upgraded to a Strip View Princess Suite which was 1,150sq ft. Huge!!

The suite comprised of fully functioning kitchen, with oven, hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and coffee machine. Crockery, Glassware and Cutlery/Utensils were all provided but if you wanted pots and pans you had to request from "Service One". Lounge comprised of fireplace and 48" plasma TV as well as balcony area and washing/drying cupboard with complimentary washing detergent. Bedroom was very roomy with the usual requirements and bathroom was amazing!! Twin tub with whirpool, shower and twin sinks for washing which really sped things along.

"Service One" system failed the hotel as often the hotel operator/staff didn't know the answers to your questions. Frustratingly, there is no guest services directory in the room which could have answered the questions I had. Phone calls from the room to local or toll-free were exorbitent when compared to chain hotels. So didn't bother.

Loved the pool area, some areas of shade (particularly in the morning) but afternoon it does become a bit of a sun trap. However there are automatic sunblinds/canopys that come out if you just ask "Service One" or you can swim/walk through to the indoor pool area which keeps you nice and cool. The pool was a good temperature as was the spa pool. If you want any pool service you do have to call service one, so we didn't bother, but compared to other Las Vegas hotels, no room key no entry.

Really enjoyed my stay at Las Vegas because of this hotel, was really great to get away from the chaos of the strip, and would certainly stay here again on my next trip. Rates again reflected the off strip location and you would not get a room on the strip for the price of this suite!!

Excellent!

We stayed here recently for our honeymoon it is an amazing hotel. I loved that it was away from the busy life of the strip, the rooms so spacious and beautiful views, but close enough to the strip to walk quite easily about 5-10 minute walk and you are in the centre of the strip.

The staff were so friendly and made us feel so welcome Brianna, Cecillia were fantastic and helped us with our first visit by offerring recommendations of places to go and things to see as it is sometimes hard to know where to start and appreciated this so much. The hotel was great the room OMG was wonderful, we could see the strip and the Bellagio fountains from our balcony, fully airconditioned, so clean, the useful facilities of a full kitchen which was great for having the choice of eating in or out, and the washing machine great to do all the washing before going home but also so that we could take less with us to bring back more, the swimming pool we could also see from our room open till 11pm both indoor and outdoor, the bar open till around midnight and just everyone even the valet staff always first to hold the doors open, wish you a good day/night and give the hotel a most special feel about it.

We are already planning our next visit and if you want a hotel that is full of luxury, friendly staff, in walkiing distance of the strip but far enough away for a peaceful night, then this is really the hotel for you. Walking to the strip from the hotel and back is great both day and night and another benefit is it really helped me in working off some of the food you eat during your stay as well as helping me lose a stone in weight which is always great news.

I am sure that you will enjoy your stay here and the beds are so comfortable you really need some good nights/days sleep to enjoy Vegas or after a busy day walking the shopping mile or the strip.

My tip for anyone see as much as you can, make the most of your holiday but ensure you take some great walking shoes with you.

The rooms are huge, the kitchen is fantastic. The staff is very, very nice. The balcony is a really cool idea - don't see a lot of them in Vegas. The pool however is not boutique hotel, more like Marriott or nice Best Western. Small, when we were there no pool service, no shade to speak of which is problematic since it is on the 5th floor and lots of sun glare. The indoor portion is overly chlorinated. The pool restaurant was also closed. Had it been open, the experience might've been more enjoyable. The valets were fantastic and no long wait for car; but imho one does need to drive everywhere, the property is two long blocks off the strip and there are a cluster of unpleasant homeless dudes who hang out near the back of Bally's.

In short: the kitchen, the room size, the staff friendliness : awesome. Value (got special thru travelzoo) also awesome. Balcony is just plain cool. If you want to walk to/from the Strip easily and/or you want a hip happening pool scene that's not this location.

Thank you for your comments and feedback. Our sanctuary concept is to have a relaxed enjoyable time by the pool without the chaos of the STRIP. Food and Beverage service is offered poolside on a daily basis. The Bally’s and the Flamingo hotels are located within a short walking distance of the Platinum.

I can't say enough about my stay at the Platinum. The rooms were amazing (looking just like the pictures) and the staff was pleasant & professional. Happy Hour in the Stir Lounge is a must. 3 of us stayed in one room but it could have easily accommodated 6. The pool area is very relaxing. Please note that everything looks much closer than what it is...LOL The walk up to the strip was less than 10 minutes but in 100 degree weather it felt like 30 minutes. Taxi service is a must to go to certain destinations. We did a day at the Well Spa. I wish I could have gone everyday! Wonderful staff & very relaxing atmosphere. The next time in Vegas I wouldn't consider staying anywhere other than the Platinum. The bigger hotels are just too busy for my taste. The only surprise I got was in checking in. I didn't realize there was a $100 a day refundable fee required for incidentals. Please make sure you set aside this amount when planning your budgets.
