We stayed at the MGM Grand labor day weekend, and it couldn't have been better. It was an immaculate property. It was clean, quiet, luxurious and comfortable. It was a quick check-in, and I never had to wait more than a minute for a taxi. The pools outside look small from the photos but they are actually quite large and have fantastic chairs. We spent one day at the MGM grand's large pool, which was really fun, but more of a party atmostphere. Unfortunately, I walked away from my chair for a brief minute and someone took the inner tube I that cost me $16 for the lazy river. But the hotel replaced it for free since I still had my receipt! I would recommend eating at the Wolfgang Puck restaurant in the casino for lunch or dinner -- it was a great meal at a resonable price. I would definitely stay at the Signature the next time I go to Vegas, it couldn't have been better!

  • Liked — The quiet non-smoking rooms, great pools, fantastic service
  • Disliked — had to walk a few blocks to get to the strip

“Luxury”

We were lucky enough to be able to stay here at a discounted price through a friend but if you can afford it I highly recommend this hotel! A lot of the hotels in Vegas seem to be quite dated but Signature is brand new and the rooms are beautiful and have everything - full kitchen, spa, plasma tv etc. I can't say a bad word about anything really.

The pools are not as exciting as some other hotels but we prefered them as they were quieter. If you do want something a bit larger then you also have full access to the MGM Grand pools.

The only bad thing about Signature was that there's so much to see in Las Vegas we didn't get to spend as much time in the room as we would have liked to! I can't imagine that anyone wouldn't enjoy their stay here.

“Very nice rooms and amenities, indifferent service from some employees”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2007

I visit Las Vegas 4-6 times a year, and usually stay at the Mandalay Bay/THEhotel if I am traveling for pleasure or at the Wynn or Bellagio if I have to entertain in my suite for business. I had heard many good things about the value at the Signature from associates who had stayed at the hotel, and decided to try it out when I took my wife to Las Vegas this past weekend.

On the whole, I was very happy with the hotel. Check in was quick with only a short line, and the front desk staff was courteous and helpful. The concierge was helpful in making dinner reservations for our first night, but that was all we asked of him because I had already arranged for show tickets and dinner reservations off property for the rest of our stay. The room itself was very well appointed, with a balcony with a great panoramic view of the strip (granted that it looked at the back of most casinos as the towers are a good quarter mile back from the strip itself), bathroom with jacuzzi tub for two, and high quality linens. We walked in on housekeeping cleaning our room one day, and both my wife and I were blown away by the level of effort they put into cleaning the room from top to bottom - disinfecting the bathtub, dusting all surfaces, refusing to use linens with barely noticeable spots. I also loved that the hotel itself was very quiet and the public areas never packed - a benefit of being set apart from the gaming property at the MGM Grand.

However, being set off the strip also had its downsides. It was generally easy to walk to the strip either out the front gate and down Harmon, or through the moving walkways to the MGM Grand.

We had a problem, though, on Saturday night when trying to get to the Mandalay Bay for dinner. My wife was dressed for dinner and didn't feel like walking to Mandalay in the shoes she was wearing, so we went to the lobby about 45 minutes before we needed to make our reservation figuring that would give us time to kill at Mandalay as there were maybe only six other people waiting for cabs at the Signature. The problem, however, was that there were no cabs to be found. When we walked out to the car port in our tower, the door staff took our names and destination and said they would arrange for a cab for us. However, 20 minutes later, not a single cab had come through the driveway. Other people who had been waiting for cabs started calling cab companies on their own trying to arrange rides. When I asked the doormen if they could call the cab company again, they told me that they "don't call cab companies" but rather turn on a light on a post on Harmon, where if a cab happens to be empty and driving by the light lets them know there are people waiting. So, the door staff refused to call a cab company and could not have cared less if we got a ride or not. By the time a taxi pulled in that hadn't been called by others, we wound up being 15 minutes late for our dinner reservation and I had to deal with my wife being in a foul mood for the next 20 minutes once we got to dinner. On a Saturday night, no cabs are going to leave the strip unless they have fares that need to be taken elsewhere - the Signature staff knows this and management needs to find a way to make sure that taxis are available to their guests!

  • Liked — Modern, luxuriously appointed rooms, good room service, quiet non-Vegas feel to hotel
  • Disliked — Terrible door staff - impossible to get a taxi and the staff knows this but doesn't care

“Absolutely perfect”

We stayed at The Signature from 10-14th October having booked on the basis of all other Tripadvisor reviews. Absolutely outstanding, the service, the comfort, the luxury, the genuine warmth of the staff, and I do mean warmth not just hunting for tips.Excellent Buffets not over priced with a very wide choice of food & Entertainment
My only gripe was the very long walk from the Signature to get out on to the Strip, certainly 20 mins even if you do not stop to play the slots. However, if you take the monorail it takes 15 minutes off the walk.Monorail entrance is definitely nearer the lobby of the Signature than any of the other hotels it services.( And the walk would be just as long at any other major hotel.)
A perfect hotel which I would recommend to any one particularly with the deals available on the web

  • Liked — bedroom & bathrooms plus free valet parking
  • Disliked — nothing

“Best Hotel Stay Ever in Vegas!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2007

Stayed here Oct. 10-14 -- Thank You TripAdvisor!

Everything went smoothly from check-in until check-out! Wow!

My only complaint is there payment policy for debit cards. I am not credit person, so I felt rather penalized. Specifically, I was not informed about this policy when booking on their website -- if you use your debit card at check-in, you will be required to make a deposit of $100 for each night for incidental coverage. I guess having a fully equipped kitchen, nice furnishings, and high-end electronics doesn't come without some faults. So, remember to bring you credit card!

Other than their preferred payment method problem, check-in and check-out was very fast.

One Bed-room Experience: Anyhoo, the hotel is very nice, just like the comments in good reviews that we have all read on tripadvisor. To summarize this place, it is exactly like the photos! My complaints are about the plasma TV’s. There are only 5 HD channels -- abc, nbc, cbs, pbs, and wb. Also, long distance phone service and pay-per-view did not work. I didn't complain about the latter not working, but I guess that might be because I was using a non-preferred payment method, as mentioned above.

One Bed-room View: Well, this is one topic which I have gotten mixed reviews about from tripadvisor. I stayed on the penthouse level, and the view was nothing special. I was facing the strip, but it was so far away and Planet Hollywood was right in the front. Really, I couldn't see much of the strip, and I don’t understand how any previous guest can say that they had a wonderful view of the strip. But, I had a very nice view of the mountains, and the patio is wonderful regardless of the limited strip view, especially at night time.

MGM Signature Location: The walk to the MGM was surprisingly short! From the Signature, the entrance to the MGM is next to the Spa and the MGM pool entrance, which I thought was quite convenient. But, this is also the rear of the MGM, so if you want to go the buffet that will be at the front. I do understand that they want you to stay on MGM property, and it will feel this way from the start. But, I was ok with this idea, since I rented a car, and I had a good understanding about where and what I wanted to do from previous trips. However, MGM Grand does offer numerous tasty treats. I loved the Grand Wok!

Food Services: I did not try in-suite dining or any of the minor eating establishments in the signature, but I did have 3 meals and one snack at the MGM Grand -- Grand Wok, Grand Buffet, and Grand Cafe. So, the Grand Wok was very tasty and very close to the KA Theater, but the Grand Cafe and Buffet was not very good.

P.S. If you want the best buffet in Vegas, go to the Wynn! I was highly impressed (and yes, it is better than Bellagio's)

Valet: Very fast -- never waited more than 3-4 minutes for my car! Also, they are very helpful with directions and will give you free bottled water, every time before you leave. Also, I tipped the valet every time, when I picked up my car.

Housekeeping: On my first day, I left a $5 tip laying on the bathroom sink counter, just to see what would happen. Wow, I must say this must have been encouraging to the housekeeping staff! They did a very nice job, and the housekeeping person left a specially folded towel on the sink that wrapped my toiletries, as if to say thank you. This seemed to brighten the housekeeping's person day, and it made my day. I suggest you leave a tip on each day too!

MGM shows: KA, I give two thumbs up! Only wished I saw this last, and not first, because it makes other Las Vegas shows less spectacular!

In conclusion, I enjoyed the MGM Signature! When you spend hours on the strip in crowds, walking among the masses, immersed in it’s sights and sounds, it feels really good to come back to a quiet, private hotel. I suggest you all try this experience! Go to the MGM Signature and be treated as an individual again.
