“Las Vegas for insiders”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2012 NEW

Everyone wants to check in at the TI or the Mandalay. But why so expensive when you can get all the Vegas action you need for a lot less. Next to Tropicana and right across from the MGM Grand is a little shack called Hooters.... You do'n have to go there neccesserily for the food, but you have to go for the private bungalows with pool view. Very friendly staff. Tattoo parlor on site. Free gambling opportunities at check in, just as all Vegas hotels offer. You have the Strip at walking distance but not the hugeness of the touristy big hotels. Just try it!

Room Tip: bungalow with pool view on second floor

“Hooters a hidden gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2012 NEW

I have been staying at this property on and off since it was the San Remo. Its tucked behind the Tropicana, and easily accessible on foot or by city bus. This in fact is a great way to get around Vegas. I believe an all day bus pass is $5 and takes you from one end of the strip to downtown and whereever you want in between. Hooters wings are awesome, the casino is small and intimate, rooms are good, but here is what is Awesome!...the pool...best kept secret in Vegas. Gorgeous with waterfalls --great place for daytime sunning and swimming and night time partying. Its the best pool out of all of the hotels I have stayed at. The biggest reason I stay there is because of staff service. Yollie who is in the cage used to run a old school steak and seafood restaurant which I wish was still there. Faith is in Executive Casino Host and is a peach. The rates are suberb as well and a very generous club. You are silly if you don't sign up for the card at every casino you stop at...freebies galore! They used to have a special bacon at breakfast also that I still remember years later. Reminds me to ask next trip.

“Decent for the money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2012 NEW

Had to stay at Hooters for Mothers day as all other hotels were booked due to the UNLV graduation. The casino is a bit swanky. A kind of beach bum / dirty city theme. The room was clean although the carpet and bedding had old stains. I would stay again. We got 2 bottles complimentary water, the staff was friendly, it's a 5 minute walk from the strip and the beer was cheap. The mattress was great!!! Best nights sleep I've had so far this year!!

“...for the cost concious...”

So... Being a frequent traveler and former hotel and restaurant manager, I think I can provide an accurate review of the hooters casino and resort. First off, the cost of the room will fit even the most frugal traveler. That being said, if you are looking for a room that is safe, with beds and a tv, you can definately stay here.
However, I can honestly say I would never bring a friend here. I've stayed at the flamingo before, against the better judgements of my friends, and that place, while seeming simular in age was a far better bang for the buck. The casino is very small...basically all on one main room, with the tables up front. Orange is the theme, with good reason, but everything looks...well...old. The decor is very reminiscent of a beach house with surfboards, raw wooden crown-molding, and pictures that wouldn't make the cut for being hung in your 'main' home

The gambling was not very lucky, which could have just been me, but all of my buddies agreed that they would rather spend their mony on the tables at some of the larger casinos.

The food is Hooters... No more, no less. If you love Hooters, then you'll love it, but if you are indifferent, then you will think its slightly than McDonalds. Of course, I had wings, and I wasn't disappointed... But really. It's not hard to fry wings.

The staff, in their friendly uniforms? Well, same as the hooters restaurant near you. Some were very attractive, some were average, and some were downright embarrassing. Dont think that you have managed to tour the mother ship where all of the ladies of hooters are molded from...because that's not it. As a bonus, some dealers are wearing hooters hot pants and plunging necklines, but you have to think of the reason to gamble...and it ain't to see beauties.

I did see plenty of kids that their parents brought, as well as a huge game room for the parents to dump their kids while they get their game on...but personally, I would make this a family vacation destination.

Would I come back?... I suppose. Would I reccomend? See the above review... GOOD LUCK FOLKS.

“Cheap but worn out hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2012

Let me first of all say that we got a very cheap deal at Hooters so what quality can you expect?

We got a room which didn't get cleaned the three nights we stayed. The beds were made nothing else. The wall to the nextdoor room were paperthin and there was a door between the two rooms that had a giant gap underneath. Therefore we could hear everything that was going on next door.

There are also some good things worth mentioning about Hooters. It's cheap and has a perfect location next to the Strip. The Hotel has a great gambling area if you would like to play at a low-stake blackjack table (3$) and low-stake roulette (2,5$). Though is it difficult to get a seat at the blackjack table.

So if you don't care for a clean room and just a little bit of sleep quality you can stay at Hooters. I wont be coming back though.
