“Best place for the Family!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

The Red Rock Casino Hotel is the best alternative to the strip if you have a family. The strip is not for a family as you walk down the sidewalk and someone places a racy flyer in your hand or the billboards on trucks driving up and down the strip advertising adult entertainment. The Red Rock is nothing like that but gives the adult members of the family access to a first-class casino while having activities for the kids from the movies to an indoor playground. The rooms were clean and elegantly furnished with a great view of the strip, from a distance. Also, the security at the hotel kept the rooms separate from the casino with room key access only. The Red Rock Canyan is beautiful and a great place to hike.

Room Tip: Ask for the Las Vegas Strip View.

I'm a local and go on a regular basis and have never been disappointed. I just tried the spa this weekend and no wonder is is ranked on the world's best spa list. The spa was clean, quiet, and my girl had 20+ years massage experience. My favorite sushi spot in Vegas is Hachi and the Yard House is always a good time. This place really has it all (great dealers, movie theater, good restaurants and pool area). Highly recommend!

We have stayed previously and have always been impressed. Unfortunately this time was not the case. We did purchase a room package from LivingSocial and I am beginning to think they have cut services due to selling so many discounted rooms. My mother and I were travelling together and need adjoining rooms since we had my little girl with us. We went up to the check out together and the front desk gal, Toni, requested one of us get back in line and go to another staff member because it would be "easier" (for her). Since we were trying to get adjoining rooms, that would make it impossible. She told us there were no adjoining rooms at all. We asked for a suite with an adjoining but were told there were only handicapped suites available. These do not have the fantastic jetted tubs, so we did not do this. I saw every other person at the check in desk was being given wristbands. I asked Toni about this and she told me they weren't for us. Did even say what they were for. Turns out it was for the 4th of July fireworks show and we had to come back later and get them since we were supposed to be given them in the first place. She really went out of her way to be unpleasant. We were given rooms at the very end of the hotel - super long walk. If you do choose to stay here, make sure they do not put you all the way down there. Both rooms were unclean and super dusty. My room had 3 hairs in the sink, dirty glasses, beef jerky on the floor and while calling down to complain about the room a bug crawled across the desk. My mom's room was filthy, too. Upon speaking to a manager, we were moved to a suite (non-handicapped) with adjoining room. Exactly what we had requested in first place. These rooms were seemed much cleaner, not dusty at all, but behind the pillow on a chair we did find a pair of dirty clothes left from a previous guest. They really need to improve on cleaning the rooms. The rooms really didn't get cool enough. You would think being in Las Vegas, they would have super a/c units. Our keys quit working twice during our stay. Got real tired of going back down to the check in desk and standing in line each time to correct this. One full day we were without phones in the room. Never got an explanation on that. They have discontinued giving little teddy bears to kids at checkout and putting robes and slippers in the rooms. Also, they only give you 3 towels in a room with 2 beds. Seriously? Don't even bother showering. There isn't enough pressure to get shampoo out of your hair. One of the 2 pools elevators did not work the entire time we were there (4 nights), so you had to wait in a long line to get back up to your room. The working elevator was rattled loudly. The LivingSocial deal had food comps which were not applied correctly. Spent 20 minutes at checkout desk getting that fixed. I really wish this stay had been better because it is a great place to stay with kids, but the service has really gone downhill. I will go back to staying at the Wynn from now on.

Room Tip: Do not get a room with a high number like 10-151. They are too far away.

This is our third year staying at Redrock during the 4th of July holiday. You get front row seats for the firework display on their nice pool backyard! Great family hotel away from the Vegas strip. Complete with bowling alleys and movie house plus a wide variety of places to eat at.

Red Rock has a great kids camp, bowling alley and movie theater. The best of both worlds for kids and for adults.

The pool area is spacious with both kid and adult areas.

The location is a poke from the strip but also has scenic red rock area for hiking or bike riding.

We were quite disappointed with our experience at Red Rock, and wound up leaving after 2 nights of a planned 4 night stay. While we were pleased with the rooms, the biggest problem was that the casino was very smoke filled and you basically have to walk on the perimeter of the casino to get to any other of the resort's features like restaurants, pool, arcade, movie theater, and bowling alley. Why would you place the movie theater, arcade, and bowling alley (all kid friendly attractions) at the very end of the casino requiring families with children to have to endure a trip essentially through the casino area every time to get to these other attractions? The attitude of the staff also was not what I have experienced while staying at places on the Strip...more stand-offish, less accomodating. Even the 4th of July fireworks show turned out to be disappointing. The Staff did not know the rules of the event with regard to beverages and food (I asked 4 to 5 different staff members), Red Rock opened the pool area to guests at 7:00 for a 10 minute fireworks show at 9:00, they did not allow swimming or have food service between 7:00 and 9:00, and the fireworks were average at best.

Obviously, based on reviews, Red Rock offers the experience that some are looking for while visiting Vegas. For us, that was not the case.

We are Vegas locals and were attending a week-end conference. I had been to the Red Rock on quite a few occasions for dining and entertainment. It is a wonderful looking casino/hotel from that standpoint. I have always loved the design and architecture of the property as you enter from the casino & gaming side. The beautiful use of stone and water features really compliments this area of town. However, this was the first time we had actually stayed overnight. We had a hard time finding the lobby for check in. It is in a downstairs area, very plain and small and kind of tucked away. The decor was boring and I felt like I was in a cheaper older hotel lobby- nothing like the rest of the property. Once we made our way to the rooms I was really disappointed in the decor of the hallways and the overall feel of the hotel area. I was really expecting another mix of modern and natural rustic that they mix so very well in the rest of the casino. The mix of mostly red (and a bit of brown) gave the hotel halls an asian feel - just didn't flow well at all. The rooms were ok, bathrooms contained all white marble which can get very slippery when wet. The shower head was very caked with calcium deposits from our hard water in Vegas. I did LOVE the TV over the huge deep tub though! The dark red "leather" walls were kind of strange in the bathroom and the dark brown paint in the main room made it feel like a cave. They have a big tray of snacks and drinks with a sign that reads "removal of these items for more than 45 seconds will results in a charge for the item" ( or something like that)- it's a good thing I didn't have any kids with me! I can understand it being in a mini bar or fridge area but that just seemed a bit over the top to me. The bed and bedding were very comfortable though. The lighting was a bit of a challenge to figure out as they have multiple switches that go to different parts of the lights integrated into the headboard and bedside areas. We had a nice time at the conference though, the meeting areas were huge and decorated nicely. We ate at the Yardhouse and it was great as always. Will still utilize the Red Rock for dining and entertainment but certainly won't recommend the hotel or stay there again.
