We arrived right when they opened on a weekday. We'd tried to eat dinner on a Monday or Tuesday in August, but they only had patio and/or bar tables available. I was hoping for more of a dining room experience at the time, so we passed. On this lunch visit we were very happy to take a high-top table in the bar. I never saw anyone head back to the dining room while we were there, so maybe they don't open it for lunches.
We had Diet Cokes to drink, so I can't comment on the cocktails. I had a caesar salad that was okay. Good, but nothing remarkable. I also had the stone crab bisque, which was fantastic. Rich and creamy with wonderful flavor. Wife had the BLT wedge salad (or something like that) which she never stopped raving about. I tried it and it was awesome. The combination of flavors complemented each other beautifully. She also got us an order of the stuffed mushrooms to share. They were heavenly. Spinach, cheese, garlic....perfect.
We split a piece of key lime pie for dessert. Now I went to college in Miami and have been somewhat of a key lime pie afficianado ever since. This klp did not disappoint. It was extremely cold but not frozen. It was simply presented with a bit of fresh whipped cream. It was perfect and a perfect ending to an incredibly excellent lunch.
I'm not a fan of sitting in the mall, nor am I a huge fan of bar high-top tables, but this was a lunch to remember.
Service was about as good as it gets.
We didn't sit at the bar, but I'm not crazy about their bar. It has about two too many stools for my liking. Plus no draft beer to my knowledge.
