This was a top tip from Tripadvisor - this is the best view you will get of the Strip and is cool, contempory suroundings. Went for pre-dinner drinks at Mix (see separate review - recommended) and glad we did. The outside area is great although limited seating so get there early. Went to the restrooms as advised on this site and yes the view is also amazing! Drinks expensive - $12 for a gin & tonic - but worth it for a great atmosphere.

We visited the Mix Bar @ The Hotel Mandalay Bay in September. We got there before 10pm (before they charge a entrance fee.), after spending some time at Mandalay Bays other bar, 'Minus 5' (another must if you come to Vegas) The bar has to have the best view in Vegas, you can see for miles, up to the top of the strip, fantastic, with a great balcony for you to sit outside high above the Vegas strip.
Drinks are reasonable for Vegas ($7/$8 for a bottle of beer), but get there early before it starts to fill up and you have to queue and get charge with a entrance fee.

I read about this somewhere and it was the best tip I got for the trip. Free view of the strip (cost of drink not included). If you go before 10 it seems there is no charge to get in. I wish we had gotten there early enough to see the sun set. There is an outdoor area with tables. We had some mixed drinks which were good and at average Vegas strip prices. Server was friendly. Bonus when you go in you walk past the Mix Restaurant and get to see the cool dining room. I forgot to check out the bathrooms, which apparently have good views too! Check out the views from the area behind the bar - you can see the Mandalay Bay pools, which look really nice.

The views from here are fantastic. Well worth the walk from the MGM to get here. The lounge isn't in the main part of Mandalay Bay but in THE Hotel. We got there before 10pm so we didn't have to pay the $10 service fee. Drinks were around $10 each. The outside balcony wasn't open but the whole front is glass so you can see all the way down the strip from inside. It was great. Check out the bathrooms - the last one in the ladies's has floor to ceiling windows and looks out on the Mandalay Bay! Very weird but cool. Definitely worth a trip.
