I have been going to Vegas for many years and usually go to a different show every evening as a diversion from gambling. I stumbled on this show while Larry was booked at Fitzgerald's downtown and have made a point of going EVERY time since! The only time I missed was when he suddenly was no longer playing at the Fitz and, despite asking around, could not find where he had moved...so I made investigated once I got home and found he had moved to this small, off strip hotel. Don't let the description of the venue scare you off...he is better than most shows on the strip that cost 3 times the price! I recommend him to everyone I know who goes to Vegas. His mimicry is "right on" and VERY humerous and entertaining. You will not be disappointed!

Before we entered the small, curtained off area of the hotel passing for a showroom, we readily spotted Larry G. Jones with his stand out hair do. I asked him kiddingly if his name was really Larry G. Jones, or did he just use that name to check into hotels. He laughed and said I caught him, he is really Smith. Beyond our funny beginning, I want to tell you that this was one of the best and most enjoyable shows I've seen in Vegas. We saw him at the end of July, 2009, the fifth of six shows we saw on this trip. The showroom was remarkable....for being so minimal, just black curtained area of an off the strip hotel, lined with rows of bridge chairs. The opening Red Skelton act was 'okay' and made you wonder what Larry G. Jones might be like, your expectations by then are not very high.
But, Larry fools everyone by putting on the best show I saw on this trip. And we also saw Terry Faden who is also magnificent, to put it in perspective. Perhaps the show just seems better because of the understated surroundings and the lowered expectation levels, but this guy was phenomenal. He did I'm sure over 100 voices and he was dead on, for male and female voices. And he played the audience in a friendly but fun way.
Be prepared for an offbeat showroom and hotel setting, and sit back and enjoy a great performer!
If you want a great meal, don't eat at this hotel, but take a shot at Piero's restaurant about a half mile east of this hotel, it was a great discovery recommended by one of the desk people at the hotel that Jones appeared at (name eludes me of the hotel). Piero's was in the movie "casino" with Joe Pesce, had great food and service, very unexpected for that location.

half price tickets to the show are available at Larry G Jones website. The Larry G. Jones shows caters to the forty year old plus crowd. If you fit into that category and enjoy top 40 hits from the 50's to 80's and 90's you'll like Larry's show. To be fair there were a few 20 somethings at the show and they waited enthusiastically after the show to talk with Larry.
Larry is funny, his imitations are good and he has a great voice. The comedian who portrays Red Skeleton is funny, if you like and/or remember Red Skeleton. If you don't like Red Skeleton or don't know who he is, you may not appreciate the comedian. The venue is tacky. It is a small time share type hotel just off the strip close to Circus Circus. At one end of the lobby there is a small stage set up surrounded by black curtains. I would estimate maximum seating, on folding chairs, at approximately sixty. Larry sings to prerecorded music and surprisingly the acoustics aren't bad. The small intimate venue works well as Larry enjoys talking (he does not embarrass anyone) to people at the show. With such a small venue, I could tell everyone really enjoyed the show. Our audience gave Larry a standing ovation. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the show.
