Great place and a good position next to the strip. The only problem we incountered is that in the morning starting at 7am the valet staff and the people parking their car there have to blow their horn as the move through the parking garage. This continues until 2pm making it impossible to sleep. I'm not sure why they need to keep blowing the car horns all morning long but they need to find a different way.

Being non gambler, this resort has made Vegas fun. The service is great and the facility is like having a the fashionable apartment on the strip. We had a one bedroom and cooked most of the time. There is a shuttle bus part of the week that goes to a supermarket(they have a basic shoppette off the lobby). The conceigere was great in booking trips to zion and bryce canyon in Utah, helping us rent a car to visit the Valley of Fire, tickets to Bette Midler and info on the deuce bus that goes up and down the strip for a set fee. There is always cold flavored with fruit or vegetable water in the lobby which was great for walkers like us. The construction wasn't a burden, in fact it was great because it kept the traffic down to a minimum. We walked thru the Planet Hollywood which had great shops, shows and restaurants. They even had a Nielsen survey place that paid you with passes or check to view TV shows!
We walked to the Mandalay Bay and in the opposite direction to the Encore.
It is nice to go to your room and not have to walk thru or passed a casino.
It was quiet and we loved the dual shower heads.
Flat screen mounted TV and free HBO and Wi Fi a big plus
can't wait to go back.

Yes, the construction is a pain. The first connecting street behind(east) the resort is Audrie. This street connects with Tropicana by going through the MGM property. There are lots of speed bumps and make sure you don't get in the right taxi lane. It comes out on Tropicana and you can go either east or west(towards the strip) depending on which side of the exit you are in. If you choose to go the next street east of Audrie which is Koval, be aware that they are tearing up the intersection and Koval between Harmon and Tropicana is down to one lane both ways. Unless you are in the very slow time of the day I would NOT risk it-take Audrie. In any case, allow for more travel time and yes it is an inconvenience but I do not consider it a major reason to not stay at the Marriott.

The resort itself is very nice-as someone else said it is not pretentious. I would not consider it to be 5 Star either in ambience or accomodations. Certainly upscale, comfortable, clean, convenient and blissfully quiet. Great views of the strip. I can't imagine someone would be dissatisfied unless they are looking for a) Excitement b) A great pool scene or c) Over the top luxury. The pool as others have stated is small but there was no fight over lounges as I have had in other locations. Expect to see children in what essentially is a kids wading pool. This is a place where families will spend a week with children in tow.

Depending on the price, I would certainly stay there again.

We spent a week here in a 1 bedroom suite. It is a great location next door to the Planet Hollywood Casino. The staff went out of their way to help and the rooms were modern with all the amenities. The best thing is being close to the action but not having to put up with all the casino traffic in your hote.

This is also a timeshare and our friends are owners in the network. The rooftop pool area is small and fills up quickly but is clean and nice. There is a nice little bar there too. Drink prices were a bit high. ($5 for a can of beer, $9 for a daquiri) The rooms are clean and nicely appointed. Ours was a one bedroom with a pull out sofa, one bathroom but a great two person shower. The sleeper sofa wasn't the most comfortable thing in the world but I knew that I would be sleeping on one before I got there. The bed in the bedroom was great just like all marriott properties. We took the "Tour" which is a sales pitch and tour of the timeshares. We didn't buy but we received 4 passes for a helicopter ride up and down the strip which were "valued" at $110/ea. The whole ride was 9 minutes long and it was great but had I paid for it I would have been peeved. The room had a nice kitchen with full size oven and fridge, blender, toaster, coffee maker, etc. very comfortable. It was an easy walk to the Bellagio, Planet Hollywood, and many others, we always felt safe walking around. There is no restaurant or casino in the hotel which was actually kinda nice. They also had complimentary valet parking.
