The Grand Chateau is a time share property operated by Marriott. The rooms are spacious, well appointed and allow two people to "pretend" they have a Las Vegas apartment. Even though our living room looked out over the airport, and not The Strip, we didn't mind because the mountains in the background and the lovely sunrises made up for it. The full sized bath had a 5 foot shower with two heads, plus there is a second vanity, with stool, in the bedroom, which also had a double sized tub. (Too bad it wasn't a Jacuzzi)! And, as always, Marriott provide wonderfully comfortable beds! This is a fabulous place if you want to get "away" from the crowds, but be only a block away it. A washer and dryer in the unit allowed us to clean up after several days of traveling.
The criticisms: valet parking only, which meant LOOOONG waits at check out time or in the evening; coffee packets for the room are not provided after the first morning; tiny, tiny, tiny rooftop pool, so not a place for teenagers who want to enjoy the sun, and the tiny rooftop bar closes ar 7-7:30 PM. On the other hand, great bars and restaurants are only a few blocks away.
If you want fabulous prime rib, go to The Palm at Caesar's Palace. Split a salad, split the 28 oz. prime rib and you'll still have lots to bring home for the next days snack. PJ Clarkes, also in Caesar's Palace has a $1.00 oyster happy hour from 3-6 PM.
